A rope walks into a bar.
The bartender looks at it and immediately says, “Get out. We don’t serve ropes here.”
The rope is understandably offended and says, “What? Why??”
The bartender shakes his head. “I’m sorry, but your kind have been too much trouble in the past. One of our staff getting accidentally hanged was the last straw. It’s nothing personal, but you have to leave.”
The rope complied, but felt very upset. He went home and talked to some friend ropes who encouraged him to stand up against the discrimination. Feeling emboldened, the rope tied himself up in various ways and pulled his ends apart until they were poofy. He was nearly unrecognizable. He walked back to the bar and confidently through the door.
The bartender peered at him with narrowed eyes. “Hey,” he said suspiciously, “aren’t you a rope?”
The rope replied, “Nope, I’m a frayed knot.”
A drunk falls into a cab, gives the cabbie a $20 bill and bellows "I wanna get screwed."
The cabbie dutifully drives him to the 'burbs and points out a town house.
The drunk staggers up to the front door, bangs on it, and screams "I wanna get screwed!"
A female voice answers, "Slip $100 under the door."
The drunk pushes $100 under the door. Nothing happens.
After a while the drunk bangs on the door again and screams "I wanna get screwed!"
The female voice answers, "What? Again!?"
A married couple wakes up one morning, and while still lying in bed, the wife turns to her husband and says, "Maybe you shouldn't go to work today?"
"What do you mean? Why shouldn't I go to work today?" replied the confused husband.
"I think you've been working too hard, so maybe instead of going to the office, you should take a few days off, pack a suitcase, and go stay with a friend for a few days away from home."
The husband thought for a moment and decided to jump at the suggestion before it disappeared. Within moments, he was up, dressed, and started packing clothes into a bag.
"Just out of curiosity," the husband asked while getting ready, "how did you come to the conclusion that I've been working so hard that I need a break?"
"You were dreaming about your work all night..." the wife answered.
"Really? How do you know I was having dreams about work?"
"Because every 2 minutes you were shouting your secretary's name!"
A little person brings in a jackass and a honeycomb into a little hotel.
The manager asked, "what can we do for you?"
He said, "I need a room, as my wife threw me out."
The manager asked "That's sad. Whatever for? And, excuse my curiosity, why do you have a jackass and a honeycomb?"
"Well," the little guy answered, "my woman stumbled upon a genie in a bottle, and he granted her 3 wishes. The first was to have the nicest ass in the land, so he gave her this jackass. Her second wish was for a 'house fit for a queen', so he gave her this beehive."
The manager asked, "And what of the third wish?"
"For her third wish, my woman asked the genie to make my penis hang down past my knee."
"Well, that one's not so bad!" the manager exclaimed.
"'Not so bad!?', he replied, "I used to be 6 feet tall!"
This is a the story of a 5 years old son, who, after watching a story of an Emperor on TV, said to his mother:
"Mum, I also want 7 wives, one will cook for me, one will read for me, one will go for walk with me, one will sing for me, one can bath me...."
Mum smiled and said: "Then night time I don't have to accompany you to sleep."
After some thought, son said: "Not possible, I still want to sleep with you mummy!"
Moms eyes fill up with tears of happiness: "My sweet son!"
"Then who will sleep with your 7 wives?"
"Let them sleep with daddy!"
Dads eyes fill up with tears of happiness. "My sweet son!"
A woman got up and out of bed and stretched and a penny fell out of her privates.
She thought it was odd but kept on with her morning routine.
She went to put on a pot of coffee and a nickel fell out of her privates. She was concerned but continued her morning routine.
She drank her coffee and went to brush her teeth when a dime fell out of her privates. She really was getting concerned and thought to herself, "if anything else happens, I'm calling the doctor!".
She got dressed and started to tidy up the house, and a quarter fell out of her privates and rolled down her pant leg.
Concerned, she called her doctor. She told him.....a penny, a nickel, a dime an then a quarter.
"No need to worry," He said "you're just going through the change."
A priest is told by the bishop he is being moved to a new parish
The priest tells the congregation the news and after the service a woman comes up to him crying: "This is terrible news father, just terrible. You can't leave us. Refuse the move, tell the bishop to find someone else for the other church."
The priest puts his arm on the woman's shoulder and says "I realize this is difficult news for you Mrs. Johnson, but who knows? Maybe the next priest for this parish will be even better than me."
"Oh sure," Mrs. Johnson says in hysterics. "That's what they told us the last time!"
Three men met on a nude beach. Two of the three men were happy, but the third was sad.
The three men broke into a conversation. Eventually, they started talking about their jobs, and why they were at the beach.
"I'm a construction worker," said the first man. "All day long I toil in the hot, hot sun, and do so wearing very heavy clothes. It's quite exhausting. But here, I can relax, and do so without any clothing at all."
"I'm an accountant," said the second man. "I just like how everyone here is dressed exactly the same."
The first two men turned to the third, sad man. "What about you?" they asked. "Why are you here?"
"My doctor sent me here," said the third man. "I'm a pickpocket."
A husband and wife sat down at their table at a coffee shop in New York City.
The wife saw a pretty young woman sitting at a table and wearing the most gorgeous pair of shoes she's ever seen. "I'd love to know where that lady got those shoes," she said to her husband. "Maybe I should ask her."
The husband raises a hand. "Allow me, my love."
The wife beams at him. "What a gentleman! Thanks, sweetie."
The husband walked over to the young woman and asked, "Where did you get those shoes?"
"I got them in a store just around the corner from here," replied the woman.
"Nice. How much were they?"
"Oh, around 500 dollars."
"Thanks for letting me know."
The husband returned to his table and said to his wife, "She got her shoes in Los Angeles."
A young man goes into a liquor store and approaches the shop owner.
Customer: "Excuse me, can I ask you a question?"
Shop owner: "Sure, son, go ahead."
Customer: "Why are you selling the Jack Daniels at thirty dollars per bottle?"
Shop owner: "And why shouldn't I, exactly?"
Customer: "But the owner of the shop across the street sells it at twenty dollars per bottle."
Shop owner: "Well, if you don't like it, why don't you go and buy there?"
Customer: "Well, because right now, they don't have any Jack Daniels."
"I assure you young man," said the shop owner, "once I run out of Jack Daniels, I'll be selling it at fifteen dollars per bottle!"
In their small village, a couple was famous for the husband being 102 years old and his wife being 98 years old, and both in terrific condition, working their farm every day and having the bodies of much younger people.
One day, a visitor to the village, curious about the couple, approached the old man at his farm. The old man was cutting wood without a shirt on, sweat glistening on a body that seemed to belong to a man half his age.
The visitor introduced himself and asked the old man: "I hear you are 102!"
"That's correct." said the old man with a smile.
"Wow, I must say, you look in amazing shape!"
"Thank you." Said the old man humbly.
"Do you mind if I ask-"
"-How am I this healthy at my age?" finished the old man. "Help me carry this wood back home and I'll tell you."
The visitor agrees and they make their way inside.
"You see," said the old man, "I've been married for 75 years. Now, when we got married, I made a little arrangement with the wife. Every time we have an argument, the loser of said argument must run for 5 kilometers. Seeing as we have a pretty typical marriage, I've been running 5 kilometers almost every day for 75 years! That's why I'm in the great shape I am."
"But if that's the case," said the puzzled visitor, "how come your wife is in such great shape too?"
"Well," smiled the old man, "she usually runs after me to make sure I finish the whole five."
A police officer was on patrol at night and saw two men fighting in the middle of the street in front of a house. He flashed his police lights, hopped out the car and pulled the two men apart. He cuffed them both and sat them apart from each other on the sidewalk.
“Enough! Explain what is going on here.” The policeman said to the first man.
“Well,” the first man sighed, “It all started a few nights ago when I thought my girlfriend was cheating on me. I came round to her place to surprise her and found her watching a movie with two suspiciously empty pizza boxes next to her. She said she was just hungry, but who the hell orders two large pizzas to themselves?”
“A valid point,” the policeman nodded.
“Anyway,” the first man continued, “I decided to stake out her house. So I’m waiting here out in the street, watching to see if anyone goes into that pink house on the other side of the road. I have my mate at the pizza shop deliver me a pizza while I wait. Everything’s quiet and I’m just about to start eating my pizza. Until I see that dickhead over there come creeping around the side of the house.”
“That man over there?” The policeman asked.
“Yes! So naturally I confronted him and he denied seeing my girl. Next thing you know we’re in the middle of a brawl and then you arrive.”
The policeman thought for a moment, then undid the cuffs.
“Here’s the deal, give me your pizza and I’ll let you drive away with a warning.”
The first man nodded grumpily, hopped in his car and drove off.
The policeman placed the pizza in his car and then walked over to the second man.
“That guy says you sleeping with his girlfriend,” the policeman stated.
“I did no such thing!” The second man roared.
“So what were you doing?” The policeman asked.
“Well...” The second man mumbled, "darn, you'll catch me anyways when you search me. Alright I was trying to rob the place!"
“That’s hardly any better,” the policeman replied.
“The windows were locked up tight, so I decided to give up. Next thing I know some guy is screaming at me, saying I’m having a thing with his girl. We ended up in a fight. Then you turn up.”
“Empty your pockets,” the policeman said.
The second man pulled out lockpicking tools, a skeleton key and a pair of diamond earrings from the last house he had robbed.
“I’ll take those,” the policeman said, “But because I’m in a good mood, I’ll let you go.”
The second man couldn’t believe his luck. He skipped away down the street.
Suddenly, the lights at the front of the house turned on. A woman came marching out,
“What the hell is going on out here?!” She asked the police officer.
The policeman turned around,
“Nothing babe, just got you a pizza and some new jewelry.”
One day, a drunk man busted into the mayor's office shouting "This country is c*ap! This country is c*ap!"
An irritated police officer ran towards him and asked, "What did you say?"
The drunk replied, "A disgraced country, c*ap, I said!" The officer decided to arrest the man, handcuffed him, and took him to the police station.
The next day, when they went to court, the drunk claimed that he indeed said 'this country is a disgrace,' but he meant Iran.
The judge was irritated at the officer for wasting his time, so he imposed a hefty fine on the officer for abusing his power.
As they were leaving the court, the officer said, "How is it that you curse and I get fined?"
"Didn't I tell you?" said the drunk, patting him on the back, "This country is c*ap..."
A big bus stops at a roadside eatery.
The passengers flood inside the eatery and as they take their respective seats the driver calls the manager aside and explains, "Look sir, we're from the mental asylum down the road. I'm taking the inmates for a ride. When they're done eating they will insist on paying with bottle caps like they do inside. Please humor them and accept their payments. I'll clear the entire check at the end."
So, as each passenger finishes eating and pays with bottle caps, the manager solemnly accepts them.
After they were all seated in the bus, the driver approaches the manager who presents the bill to him.
The driver carefully scans the bill. "Excellent! I'm grateful for your cooperation. You don't know how hard it is to handle these people. Now, would you have change for a hubcap?"
A nun, sister Sarah, wakes up one morning feeling great, she gets out of bed and decides to go to the kitchen for some breakfast.
On her way over there she runs into sister Jane and she says, "Hi sister Jane," to which sister Jane answers, "I see you got off on the wrong side of the bed this morning sister."
Puzzled, sister Sarah did not understand what sister Jane meant by that so she ignored it and went on.
She's passing by the garden when she runs into sister Roberta and says, "Good morning sister Roberta hope you're having a great day!"
Sister Roberta answers, "Good morning sister Sarah, I see you got off on the wrong side of the bed today."
Sarah was now really anxious to know why everybody she meets keeps saying that when she feels so great, and so she decides to go and see mother superior, who was in her office. She enters and asks mother superior, "Holy mother, everybody keeps telling me that I got off on the wrong side of the bed, but I feel great!"
The mother superior replies: "That's because you have brother John's shoes on."
It was Christmas morning and an old man was enjoying opening presents with his family but every time he opens a present, he checks to be sure that everything is there…
“Great, 4 steak knives. 1, 2, 3 and 4!”
“A dozen wrenches? Brilliant! 1, 2, 3, 4….10, 11 and 12!
“Four wine glasses, neat. 1, 2, 3 and one more makes 4.”
This continues on for some time and his family is growing increasingly annoyed with him. Yet he continues on.
“Fifty fishing lures, oh my. 1, 2, 3, 4…”
"Oh for father's sake, Adam," his wife suddenly yelled at him: "It was ONE rib, let is go!"
A drunk guy is sitting at a bar by himself one night and he throws up all over the front of his shirt.
"Oh great, my wife is going to kill me," he mumbles to himself.
The guy sitting next to him sees what has happened and leans over towards him, "Hey buddy, just put a twenty dollar bill in your shirt pocket and when you get home tell your wife the guy sitting next to you threw up on you and he gave you $20 to get your shirt cleaned."
Completely inebriated, the drunk thanks his new friend and puts a twenty in his shirt pocket, then heads for home.
As soon as he walks through the front door his wife becomes irate and starts yelling at him, "Where have you been? you're completely drunk and you're a mess. Look at yourself, you puked all over the front of your shirt!"
Completely wasted and slurring his words he explains to the wife, "No no, the guy sitting next to me threw up on my shirt and he gave me $20 to get it cleaned. Look, it's right here in my shirt pocket."
The wife reaches into his pocket and pulls out the money, "There's $40 in here."
"Oh yeah, he s*at in my pants too."
A man meets a beautiful, sexy girl. He really desires her, so he invites her to a movie, and she tells him:
"Listen, if you're looking to sleep with me, then there is no need to get me dinners, movie evenings and all that. Just buy me a good Swiss Army knife."
The guy thinks. It's true, he's not interested in something long-term, so he buys her a good genuine Victorinox.
They come to her home, she opens a big chest standing in a closet, and puts his knife there. The guy sees that the chest is half-filled with such knives already. Then she takes him to her bedroom for a wonderful night together.
The next morning, they're sitting at her kitchen, drinking tea, and he asks her:
"Can I ask you a question? What would you need so many knives for?"
"You see," she explains. "I'm young now. I'm beautiful. I have no trouble finding guys; in fact, they're the ones chasing me. But I know it doesn't last forever. One day, I'll be older, gray-haired, I'll be the one looking everywhere for a piece of love, and then... do you have any idea what a young man would be willing to do for a good Swiss Army knife?"
A Frenchman, an Italian and a Russian all end up in hell. The Frenchman begs to make one last call home to see how his family is coping. The devil says, "Fine, it’ll cost you an extra thousand years in the flames."
The Frenchman agrees, and tearfully listens to his wife sleeping with his brother.
The Italian begs to call home to see how his daughters are doing.
"That’ll be an extra thousand years in the flaming pit." says the devil.
"So be it." says the Italian, and weeps as he listens to his children selling the farm.
"Now I want to call home," says the Russian, and grabs the receiver. He hears his neighbors robbing his house and hangs up in disgust.
"How many years is that?" he asks the devil.
"None." Says the devil.
"How dare you? shouts the Russian, "You took a thousand agonizing years off that Frenchie and the Italiano, what’s wrong? Is my pain not good enough for you?"
"No, no," says the devil, "it's just that local calls are free."
Putin is sitting in his office when his telephone rings
"Hallo, Mr. Putin!" a heavily accented voice said. "This is Paddy Down at the Harp Pub in County Clare, Ireland. I am ringing to inform you that we are officially declaring war on ya!"
"Well, Paddy," Putin replied, "This is indeed important news! How big is your army?"
"Right now," says Paddy, after a moment's calculation, "there is meself, me Cousin Sean, me next door neighbor Seamus, and the entire darts team from the pub. That makes eight!"
Putin paused. "I must tell you, Paddy, that I have 100,000 men in my army waiting to move on my command."
"Begoora!" says Paddy. "I'll have to ring ya back.
Sure enough, the next day, Paddy calls again. "Mr. Putin, the war is still on. We have managed to get us some infantry equipment!"
"And what equipment would that be Paddy?" Putin asks.
"Well, we have two combines, a bulldozer, and Marphy's farm tractor." Putin sighs amused. "I must tell you, Paddy, that I have 6,000 tanks and 5,000 armored personnel carriers. Also, I have increased my army to 150,000 since we last spoke"
"Saints preserve us!" says Paddy. "I'll have to get back to ya."
Sure enough, Paddy rings again the next day. "Mr. Putin, the war is still on! We have managed to get ourselves airborne! We have modified Jackie McLaughlin's ultra-light with a couple of shotguns in the cockpit, and four boys from the Shamrock Bar have joined us as well."
Putin was silent for a minute and then cleared his throat. "I must tell you, Paddy, that I have 100 bombers and 200 fighter planes. My military bases are surrounded by laser-guided, surface-to-air missile sites. And since we last spoke, I have increased my army to 200,000!"
"Jesus, Mary, and Joseph!" says Paddy, "I will have to ring ya back."
Sure enough, Paddy calls again the next day. "Top o' the mornin', Mr. Putin! I am sorry to inform ya that we have had to call off the war."
"Really? I am sorry to hear that," says Putin. "Why the sudden change of heart?"
"Well," says Paddy, "we had a long chat over a few pints of Guinness and finally decided there's no way we can feed 200,000 Russian prisoners."
A burglar breaks into a home and holds the husband and wife hostage. At gunpoint, he forces the two to sit on chairs and ties them to the chairs. The burglar slowly and methodically begins robbing the house.
The burglar has taken everything of value, and is ready to leave while the homeowners are still bound to their chairs.
Suddenly, the man yells at the burglar, "Please untie her, please, let her go!"
"No, I'm not untying either of you so that the authorities get notified as late as possible." says the criminal. "Don't worry, your neighbors will soon wonder why your lights are still on throughout the night and check in with you."
Yet the man again pleads, "Please, just untie her, I'll do anything!"
"Look, I need to get away with this crime, I'm sorry, I can't leave anything up to chance." says the burglar, feeling a little ashamed of himself.
"I'm begging you man, just let her go, she won't call the cops, I promise!" the man is now crying.
The burglar, still unwilling to budge, does find it quite touching how much his hostage cared about his wife.
"Wow," he says "You must really love your wife to beg me to untie her so desperately."
"Not really," The man replies in a state of frenzy, "it's just that she will be home in 15 minutes."
Three writers, Jack, Eddie, and Carl, who were attending a writing convention, booked a 3 bedroom suite on the 75th floor of a hotel.
When they arrived back at the hotel from the convention, the receptionist told them, "I'm terribly sorry, but all the elevators are broken. In the meantime, you will have to take the stairs."
Now, Jack was a writer of funny stories, Eddie was a writer of scary stories, and Carl was a writer of sad stories. The three of them agreed that, to make it less boring, Jack would tell the other two his funniest stories while they climbed from floors 1 to 25, Eddie would tell his scariest stories from floors 26 to 50, and Carl would tell his saddest stories from floors 51 to 75.
They started to climb the stairs, and Jack started to tell funny stories. By the time they reached the 25th floor, Eddie and Carl were laughing hysterically.
Then Eddie started to tell scary stories. By the time they reached the 50th floor, Jack and Carl were hugging each other in fear.
Then Carl started to tell sad stories. "I'll tell my saddest story of all first," he said, smiling nervously, "There once was a man named Carl who left the hotel room key in the car..."

Between 1 and 100, a man is like Iran and Russia: Ruled by a pair of nuts.
An elderly woman visited a store that sold jade and requested seven kilograms of potatoes.
The owner was delighted to help and started packing the potatoes. However, the woman stopped him and requested that each potato be wrapped individually.
The man complied and asked if there was anything else he could help with.
The woman then requested four kilograms of onions to be wrapped in a similar manner.
The shop owner packed the onions and asked if there was anything else.
The woman requested seven kilograms of carrots.
"Let me guess," said the owner with a sour face, "you want them wrapped individually."
"Oh, that would be grand." she said.
The shop owner fulfilled her request and packed all her items in a bag.
The woman then asked: "What are in those crates behind you?"
The man flushed red and said "Madam, these are grapes and they are not for sale!"
2 college students accidentally miss the math final exam. The next day they both went to plead with their professor. He was feeling pretty good that day so he allowed them to retake it. He told them to both come back tomorrow for an oral exam. When they both showed up he told one of them to wait outside while he tests the other. So one enters and the other puts his ear to the door to listen.
The professor begins asking the question:
"You are riding in a train car and you get too hot. What do you do?"
The student replies,"I open the window."
"Ok. Now that window is 2 feet wide and 3 feet high. The train is traveling 50 mph going north and the wind is blowing at 15 mph due east. How long will it take for new air to replace the old air in the car?"
The student is clearly confused at this difficult question and just answers,"I don't know."
So the professor gives him an F, dismisses him, and calls in his friend.
He begins asking his friend "you are riding in a train car and it gets too hot. What do you do?
He says,"I will take my jacket off."
"Ok. But its still too hot. What do you do?"
"I take my shirt off."
"I understand but its very, very hot."
"I will just get naked."
"Ok. But there are people in the the car who will see you get naked."
"With all respect, Professor," said the student, "I don't care if my grandmother and my priest are there, there's no way I'm opening that darn window!"
An Englishman, a Frenchman, a Spaniard and a German are all standing watching an American street performer do some juggling. The juggler notices the four gentleman have a very poor view, so he stands up on a wooden crate and calls out, "Can you all see me now?"
"Yes."
"Oui."
"Sí."
"Ja."
There was once a very successful farmer from Texas who started gaining interest in his ancestry. After doing some digging, he traced his lineage back to a small town in Ireland. And lo and behold, they were a family of farmers. So he packed his bags and took a trip to Ireland to visit the small town to see if he could track down some of his kin.
After landing in Dublin, and driving an hour outside of the city, he stopped in a pub to grab a drink and start asking around about his family.
The Texan sat down, ordered a pint, and started talking to the Irishman sitting at the bar. After explaining his story and the purpose of the trip, the Irishman responded, “You don’t say! I’ve never heard of your family, but I’m a farmer as well. Tell me, what’s it like farming in Texas?”
“Gladly,” the Texan said, “farming in Texas has been quite lucrative for me. If you started out in the morning, and drove west, you could drive all day before you reached the end of my property. And if you started the next day and drove East all day, you wouldn’t reach the end of my property. Same thing North and South, you could drive either direction all day and you wouldn’t reach the end of my farmland.”
“Ahh, I know what you mean,” said the Irishman, “I’ve got a tractor like that as well.”
A man is walking through the woods, and he finds a magic lamp on the ground. Instinctively, he picks the lamp up, rubs the side of it with his sleeve, and out pops a genie. The genie thanks the man for freeing him, and offers to grant him three wishes. The man is ecstatic and knows exactly what he wants.
“First,” says the man, “I want a billion dollars.”
The genie snaps his fingers and a briefcase full of money materializes out of thin air.
The man is wide eyed in amazement and continues, “Next, I want a Ferrari.”
The genie snaps his fingers and a Ferrari appears from a puff of smoke.
The man continues, “Finally, I want to be irresistible to women.”
The genie snaps his fingers and the man promptly turns into a box of chocolates.
It was Sunday and the preacher has just finished an inspiring church service when Rick, the wealthiest man in town, stood up and asked to address the congregation.
The preacher wasn't surprised at this. "Just make it quick, Rick." He sighs.
"Sure Father." Said Rick.
He cleared his throat and addressed the audience: "I can still recall the day when I earned my first dollar," he began.
"That same evening, I attended a church meeting where the speaker talked about his humanitarian efforts. At that moment, I had only that single dollar to my name, and I had to make a tough decision: give it to the speaker's cause or keep it for myself.
"I chose to donate it all, and I truly believe that God blessed that decision, which is why I am a millionaire today." he finished, a tear gleaming in his eye.
"Oh yea?" an old woman in the audience stood up, "I dare you to do it again!"
A widower, on his retirement, purchased a house situated near a high school. He spent the first few weeks of his retirement in peace, then the new school year began. One afternoon early into the first semester, three young boys came down the street, beating merrily on every bin they passed. They did this the following day and the day's after that, for a week, until the man decided it was time to take some action.
The next afternoon, he walked out to meet the boys as they banged their way down the street. Stopping them, he said, "You kids are a lot of fun. In fact, I used to do the same thing when I was your age. Would you do me a favor? I would give you each a dollar, if you promise to come around and do your thing."
The boys were more than happy to accept this and continued to bang the bins.
After a few days, the man came out to meet them with a sad smile, and said, "This recession really is putting a dent in my income. From now on, I will pay you each 50 cents to continue."
The boys were unimpressed by this, but continued to do the same afternoon activities.
A few days later, the man approached them again and said, "Look, the recession has again reduced my income, so from now on, I am afraid I can only pay you 25 cents each."
The leader then exclaims angrily, "That's it? If you really think we are going to waste our time banging the bins for 25 cents each, you must be a fool. No way that's going to happen. We quit."
The man then enjoyed peace and serenity for the rest of his days.
One November afternoon when my daughter was in kindergarten, I picked her up after school. She bobbed out to the car and crawled into the back seat.
"What did you do today?" I asked.
She couldn't wait to tell me. "We learned that boys are different from girls!" she chirped.
Looking into the rearview mirror, I could just see the top of her head. "My teacher told us that boys have a thing and girls don't," she added.
"Well, yes they do..." I said cautiously.
I couldn't think of anything else to say, so we were quiet for a moment. Then she piped up again. "That's how girls know that boys are boys," she said. "They see that thing that hangs down and they know that he is a boy."
I mentally calculated the distance home. Our five-minute commute already felt like an hour.
"Did you know that when the boys see a girl they puff up?" she asked.
My palms were beginning to sweat.
"Um...well…" I was still searching for something new to say, to change the subject when she asked, "Why do the girls like the boys to have those things?"
Well, I didn't know what to say. I mean, what woman hasn't asked herself that question at least once? "Oh, well...um..." I stammered.
She didn't wait for my answer. She had her own. "It's ‘cause it moves when they walk and then the girls see that and that's when they know they are boys and that's when they like them. Then the boy sees the girl and he puffs up, and then the girl knows he likes her, too. And then they get married. And then they get cooked."
That last part confused me a bit, but on the whole, I thought she had a pretty good grasp on things.
As soon as we got home and I pulled into the garage, she hopped out of the car, fishing something out of her school bag.
"I drew a picture," she said. "Do you want to see?"
I wasn't sure I did, but I looked at it anyway. I had to sit down.
There, all puffed up so to speak, looking mighty attractive for the ladies, was a crayon drawing of a great big Tom Turkey. His snood, the thing that hangs down over his beak, the thing that female turkeys find so irresistible, was magnificent. His tail feathers were standing tall and proud.
She was a little offended that I laughed so hard at her drawing, and I laughed until I cried. But when I told her I loved it … and I did … she got over her pique.
That was the end of that, for her anyway. But I'm not so lucky. Every year I remember that conversation. And to be honest, I haven't looked at a turkey, or a man, the same way since.
A man rents a room, and pays extra on the condition the landlady prepare his work lunch every day.
So on the first day, she packs him a sandwich on normal sandwich bread, using the last night's leftovers of meatloaf, adding in some fruit and a bottle of soda.
When he comes home, he politely tells her that it wasn't quite enough food for him.
The next day, she makes two sandwiches (turkey this time), and adds a container of salad, some crackers and peanut butter, and a slice of cake.
That night, he told her most apologetically that while the food was delicious, he found himself still hungry, and could she possibly put in a little more tomorrow?
The next day, she uses long slices of sourdough bread to construct a pair of huge sandwiches, and includes crackers and peanut butter, chips and dip, and veggies and ranch dressing, and a whole 2-liter of soda.
That night, he smiles very kindly, and tells her it was almost enough food.
The next day - throwing caution to the wind, and idly wondering if she's feeding his entire workplace - she cuts a loaf of bread in half and stuffs it with pounds of meat and cheese, an entire head of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, other vegetables, sauces: everything!
That night, he fixes her with a dry look and says, "So, I see we're back down to one sandwich?"
Clark Kent was lying in his death bed with his wife Lois Lane beside him.
After some time, Lois said, “Darling, I have to confess something. Years ago, I had an affair with Superman. It was only one night, but I’ve regretted it ever since. I hope you can forgive me.”
“You don’t need to worry about that because,” Clark said as he took off his glasses, “I AM Superman! Even if you didn’t know it was me, in my eyes you were always faithful.”
“Oh thank God!” said Lois. “I can’t tell you what a weight that is off my chest.”
“Glad we cleared that up.” whispered Clark.
"That makes two of us.“ smiled Lois. "I guess this means you were Batman, too.”
On the last day of kindergarten, all the children brought presents for their teacher.
The florist's son handed the teacher a gift.
She shook it, held it up and said, "I bet I know what it is - it's some flowers!"
"That's right!" shouted the little boy.
Then the candy store owner's daughter handed the teacher a gift.
She held it up, shook it and said. "I bet I know what it is - it's a box of candy!"
"That's right!" shouted the little girl.
The next gift was from the liquor store owner's son, Little Johnny.
The teacher held it up and saw that it was leaking.
She touched a drop with her finger and tasted it.
"Is it wine?" she asked.
"No," said Little Johnny.
The teacher touched another drop to her tongue.
"Is it juice?" she asked.
"No," he answered.
Finally, the teacher said, "I give up. What is it?"
"A puppy!"
An elderly man rear ends a young man driving an expensive sports car.
Enraged, the guy hops out of his car and confronts the old man. “Look what you did to my car” he yells. “you’re gonna give me $10,000 right now or I’m gonna beat you to a pulp!”
“Oh my” says the old man, "I don't have that kind of money. Let me call my son, he trains dolphins and he’ll know what to do."
"Dolphins...", the other driver huffs, while rolling his eyes. The old man pulls out his phone, dials his son and just as the son answers, the irate man snatches the phone away from the old man.
"So, YOU’RE a dolphin trainer, huh? Well, your old man here just rear ended my car and I need ten grand right now or I’m gonna beat you AND your old man to a pulp. So you better train those dolphins to bring you some cash!"
"I’ll be there in 10 minutes." says the voice calmly on the other end.
Exactly ten minutes later a pickup truck pulls up. A huge guy hops out and proceeds to walk calmly towards the bully. Before the enraged young man can speak, the man smoothly rams his head against the other man's forehead. The bully crumples like paper and the other man catches him, leaving him in a heap on the side of the road.
When he’s finished, he walks over to the old man and says:
“For the last time dad... I train seals... Navy Seals…. NOT dolphins.”
A little 12-year-old girl was walking home when a big man on a black motorcycle pulled up beside her.
After following along for a while, the rider turns to her and asks, "Hey there little girl," and winks, "do you want to go for a ride?"
"NO!" says the little girl as she keeps on walking.
The motorcyclist again pulls up beside her and asks, "Come on now, I will give you $10 if you hop on the back."
"NO!" says the little girl again as she hurries down the street.
The motorcyclist pulls up beside the little girl again and says, "Okay, last offer! I'll give you 20 Bucks and a big bag of candy if you just hop on the back of my bike."
Finally, the little girl stops and turns towards him and says, pointedly: "Look Dad, you're the one who bought the Honda instead of the Harley...YOU RIDE IT!"
A blonde decides one day that she is sick and tired of all these blonde jokes and how all blondes are perceived as stupid, so she decides to show her husband that fact.
While her husband is off at work, she decides that she is going to paint a couple of rooms in the house. The next day, right after her husband leaves for work, she gets down to the task at hand. Her husband arrives home at 5:30 and smells the distinctive smell of paint.
He walks into the living room and finds his wife lying on the floor in a pool of sweat. He notices that she is wearing a ski jacket and a fur coat at the same time.
He goes over and asks her if she is OK.
"I'm great!" She replies.
"What are you doing?"
"I wanted to prove to you that not all blonde women are stupid. So I painted the house!"
"That's wonderful, honey. Thank you!" He beams. "Just one question, though, "why are you wearing your ski jacket over your fur coat?"
"Well, I wanted to be thorough, and the directions on the paint can say: "For best results, put on two coats.""
Lying on his deathbed, an elderly man made his final request to his wife:
"Honey, I'm almost out of time and there's something I'd like you to do for me when I'm gone."
She nodded her head and said, "You can count on me. Anything you ask, I'll make sure it's done."
"I want you to wed my buddy, Jacob," he said, his voice filled with emotion.
Astonished, his wife replied, "Jacob? But I thought you couldn't stand him!"
He smiled and looked into her eyes as he answered, "That's precisely why..."
A rabbi and a priest went for a walk in the park, and strolled by a large lake.
Suddenly the rabbi said: "Let's go in and do some 'baptism', the water looks really clear!"
"But we don't have swimsuits" the priest told him.
"So what?" replied the rabbi, "Let's go into the water as God created us."
The priest thought for a moment and then agreed with him. They took off their clothes, laid them on a piece of grass at the edge of the lake and went in for a short dip. After a few minutes they left the lake and walked back towards the place where they had put the clothes.
Suddenly the two noticed a small group of people staring right at them.
Embarrassed, the priest tried to cover his shame with his hands. He looked to the side and discovered that the rabbi was covering his face with his hands. "What are you doing?!?" hissed the priest, "cover your privates!"
"I don't know how it goes in YOUR congregation." Said the Rabbi, "but my people recognize me by my face!"
Some decades ago, the Pope had died and arrived at Heaven's Gate. Sitting there, he spots St. Peter and waves at him. The bemused St. Peter asked who he was.
The Pope excitedly exclaimed he was the representative of God on Earth. St. Peter seemed confused, as he had seemingly never heard of such a thing before.
When the Pope clarified he was the leader of the Catholic Church, St. Peter was intrigued. He decided to take the query to God Himself, walking away to talk with Him through Heaven's Gate.
He asks him the same question: was there really someone claiming he was God's representative on Earth?
God: "I don't have a representative on earth, not that I know of... Wait, I'll ask Jesus." (He yells for Jesus)
Jesus: "Yes Father, what's up?"
God and St. Peter explain the situation.
Jesus: "Wait, I'll go outside and have a little chat with that fellow."
Ten minutes pass and Jesus reenters the room laughing out loud. After a few minutes, St. Peter asks Jesus why he's laughing.
Jesus: "Remember that fishing club I've started 2000 years ago? It still exists!"
Three youngsters were in the midst of a spirited debate to determine who had the swiftest dad.
"My dad is the fastest!" Anya exclaimed excitedly. "He's a builder and can chuck a brick off the fifth floor, race down the stairs and catch it before it even hits the ground!"
"That's nothing!" Brad boasted. "My dad is much faster! He's a professional archer and can target an arrow at a wolf's head, fire it, and then run and grab the creature before the arrow even lands!"
"Incredible!" exclaimed Tommy. "But I think my father is way faster!"
"What makes you say that?" asked Anya and Brad curiously.
"My father has been working at the DMV for 20 years," Tommy answered. "he's expected to be off work at 5PM, but he's so speedy he's home by 1!"
As Josh strolled along the street, he saw his buddy Michael striding along anxiously with lots of bags in his hands. "Hey Michael, is everything alright? You seem kind of jumpy." Michael set the bags on the ground and said, "Yeah, I was just now at the state-of-the-art supermarket that they launched in the industrial part of the city."
"Oh? What's it like there? I heard it's remarkable."
"Kind of..." Michael replied.
Josh was amazed when Michael described the grocery store with enthusiasm - emphasizing the atmosphere of naturalness and genuineness. You could hear cows mooing and smell the barn in the milk section. In the egg aisle, chickens were cackling and the chicken coop was in the air, and it was even better in the vegetable section - you could literally hear the farmers and smell the fields!
"Wow, that sounds incredible!" Josh exclaimed.
"Well, yes, in principle." said Michael with a grimace, "But this is the last time I'm going there to buy toilet paper."
Johan and Eric, two computer geeks with little social experience, ran into each other at the college entrance.
"That's a great bike you have there! What made you get it?" Eric asked Johan.
Johan got off the bike, removed his helmet and responded: "I didn't purchase it, Andrea gave it to me as a gift."
"As a GIFT?!" Eric exclaimed in surprise, "I always knew she was into you, but this is taking it to a whole new level!"
Johan smiled and told him: "Yesterday I was strolling in the park and I saw Andrea on this bike. She came to me without saying anything, tossed the bike aside, then took off all her clothes and said 'Take whatever you want!'"
Eric's jaw was hanging loose.
"So, I took the bike." Johan finished.
Eric nodded in agreement and stated: "Good decision, her clothes wouldn't fit you."
Jenny was sitting reading her favorite magazine when suddenly an ad pops for an all-expenses-paid cruise for the low price of $500.
She excitedly goes to Jack, her husband, and shows him the ad. "Look Jack," she says, "it's in two days and only $500!"
"I'll be honest with you," said her husband, "I have too much work for a cruise. How about you go and have a good time?"
His wife is a bit disappointed but bounces back and decides she will have a good time anyway.
The next day, Jack is in his office when his co-worker, who is also his mistress, comes to him excitedly.
"Look Jack," she says, "there's this cruise tomorrow that is on sale! Only $500!"
"I'm really not into cruises, to be honest." Replies Jack. "Here's $500, why don't you go and have a good time?"
She agrees to do just so, and as it turns out, both his wife and his mistress ended up going on the same cruise.
A few days later, his wife comes back from the cruise. As she tells him how much fun she had, she shows him photos she took. While looking them over, Jack notices that his lover Brenda is in some of the photos in the background. He points to her and asks his wife: "Who's she?"
"Oh, her." sniffs his wife disdainfully, "I call her the cruise-slut because she slept with half of the men there."
The next day, Jack goes to the office and gets the same excited story accompanied by photos from his mistress Brenda. Once again, he sees a familiar face in some of the photos - his wife. He then points to his wife and asks Brenda: "Who is she?"
"Oh, her!" says Brenda, "She's such a nice woman, with all the men on board, she never left her husband's side for a second!"
Three people die; a doctor, school teacher, and the head of a large insurance company.
When met at the pearly gates by St. Peter he asks the doctor, "what did you do on Earth?"
The doctor replied, "I healed the sick and if they could not pay I would do it for free." St. Peter told the Doctor, "You may go in."
St. Peter then asked the teacher what she did, she replied, "I taught educationally challenged children." St. Peter then told her "You may go in."
St. Peter asked the third man, "What did you do?"
The man raised his head and replied, "I ran a large insurance company."
"You may go in..." said St. Peter.
The man happily walks forward when St. Peter adds: "for 3 days."
A golfer playing in Ireland hooked his drive into the woods. Looking for his ball, he found a little Leprechaun flat on his back, a big bump on his head and the golfer's ball beside him.
Horrified, the golfer got his water bottle from the cart and poured it over the little guy, reviving him.
"Arrgh! What happened?" the Leprechaun asked.
'I'm afraid I hit you with my golf ball,' the golfer says.
"Oh, I see. Well, ye got ol' Paddy here fair and square. Ye get three wishes, so whaddya want?"
"Thank God you're all right!" the golfer answers in relief. "I don't want anything, I'm just glad you're OK, and I apologize."
And then he just walks off.
"Wow, what a nice guy!" the Leprechaun says to himself. "I have to do something for him. I'll give him the three things I would want... a great golf game, all the money he ever needs, and a fantastic love life."
A year goes by and the golfer is back. On the same hole, he again hits a bad drive into the woods and the Leprechaun is there waiting for him.
"'Twas me that made ye hit the ball here," the little guy says. "I just want to ask ye, how's yer golf game?"
"My game is fantastic!" the golfer answers. "I'm an internationally famous golfer now." He adds, "By the way, it's good to see you're all right."
"Oh, I'm fine now, thank ye. I did that fer yer golf game, you know. And tell me, how's yer money situation?"
"Why, it's just wonderful!" the golfer says cheerfully. "When I need cash, I just reach in my pocket and pull out $100 bills I didn't even know were there!"
"I did that fer ye also. And tell me, how's yer love life?"
The golfer blushes, turns his head away in embarrassment, and says shyly, 'It's OK.'
"C'mon, c'mon now," urged the Leprechaun, "I'm just wanting to know if I did a good job here. How many times a week do ya do the deed?"
Blushing even more, the golfer looks around then whispers, "Once, sometimes twice a week."
"What??" responds the Leprechaun in shock. "That's all? Only once or twice a week?"
"Well,' says the golfer, 'I figure that's not bad for a Catholic priest in a small parish."
Josh was excited. As his first official duty as a parish priest, fresh out of school, he got to officiate his first funeral for a homeless man with no friends or family. The young priest vowed to give him the most loving send-off, the love he probably missed in this life. The funeral was to be held at a new cemetery across town and this man was the first to be laid to rest there.
New to the area, Father Josh arrived late, but noticed a few workers gathering around the grave opening. The young and enthusiastic priest poured out his heart and soul as he gave his sermon and recited the prayers. His voice was so evocative and powerful that he brought the cemetery workers to tears.
When the service was over, the priest thanked the workers for listening and walked to his car. As he opened the door, Josh heard one worker say to the other, “I've never seen anything like that before and I've been putting in septic systems for over 20 years!"
On a very windy day, a rabbi was walking along when a strong gust of wind blew his hat off his head. The rabbi ran after the hat, but the wind was too strong. It kept blowing his hat farther and farther away.
A non-Jewish young man, seeing what had happened, ran after the hat, caught it and gave it back to the rabbi. The rabbi was so grateful that he gave the young man 20 dollars and blessed him.
The young man was so excited that he decided to go the race track and with the rabbi's blessing, he decided to check the program and place the entire 20 dollars on a horse. After the races he went home and recounted his very exciting day to his father.
"I arrived at the fifth race and looked at the program. I saw this horse named 'Top Hat' was running. The odds on this horse were 100 to 1 but since I received the rabbi's blessing I bet the entire 20 dollars on 'Top Hat' and guess what? He won!"
"In the next race, there was a horse named 'Bowler' at 30 to 1 so I bet the entire amount of my winnings on him, and guess what ... I won again!"
"So did you bring the money home?" asked his father.
"No," said the son, "I lost it all on the last race. There was a horse named 'Chateau' that was a heavy favorite so I bet everything on him, and since 'Chateau' means 'hat' in French I figured he was a sure thing."
"You fool!" said the father. "Hat in French is 'chapeau' not 'chateau!'"
Sighing to himself, the father then asked, "So who did win the race?"
"A real long shot," said the son. "Some Spanish horse named 'Sombrero'."
There is a folktale about Pinocchio, one that claims he never became a real boy, but instead grew up and became a wooden man.
One night, Pinocchio's girlfriend says to him, “This stinks. I love you Pinocchio, but every time we make love... I get splinters.”
So Pinocchio goes to Geppetto to ask his advice.
Geppetto says, "Sandpaper, my boy, that's all you need. Just be careful with it, don't injure yourself!"
A few days later Geppetto runs into Pinocchio and says, "So, my dear boy, how are you doing with the girls now?"
"Who needs girls?" says Pinocchio.
A father, mother and child went out to spend time on the beach on a hot summer's day, but as soon as they reached the beach they discovered that there was a black flag there, a sign not to enter the water. The boy really wanted to get in the water, but his mother did not agree and they stayed on the beach to rest in the sun and play in the sand.
After a few minutes, the father got bored and turned to his wife: "Keep an eye on the boy, I'm going into the water, there's no way the sea is really that dangerous." After a few minutes the boy asked "Mom, why did you let dad get in the water and not me?"
"Because you and father are two different people and there are things he can do and you can't." answered the mother.
"Is it because dad knows how to swim really well?" continued the boy.
"Not really" answered the mother.
"Is it because dad is big and strong?"
"No."
"Then why is daddy allowed to enter the water and I'm not?" the boy complained.
"Because daddy has life insurance."
A father is lecturing his son about the importance of a good education.
“Dad, what’s the difference between a man with a college degree and a man without?” Said the son.
“Well son,” said the father, “you can perform the same job but the outcome will vary depending if you have a college degree or not!”
“How so?” Asked the Son
“You see, if you rob a man without a college degree you will be prosecuted as a criminal and sent to jail”.
“What if I rob a man after I received a college degree?” Asked the son
“In that case they will address you as Special Agent of the IRS.”
A bear walks into a bar.
The bartender is extremely busy and looks tired. He eventually makes his way over to the bear.
The bear immediately tells him, "You look exhausted."
"Yeah, it's been a rough day," says the bartender, "What are you drinking?"
"I'll have a glass of..." says the bear. He waits a painfully long moment before adding "... scotch."
"Why the long face?" asks the bartender.
"Don't you mean "big pause"?" asks the bear.
"Yeah, sorry." Sighs the Bartender. "Like I said, it's been a rough day."
A crusty Navy Master Chief noticed a new face in his unit and barked at him immediately.
“Get over here! What’s your name, sailor?”
“John,” the new seaman replied.
“Look, I don’t know what kind of bleeding-heart pansy crap they’re teaching sailors in boot camp these days, but I don’t call anyone by his first name,” the chief scowled. “It breeds familiarity, and that leads to a breakdown in authority. I refer to my sailors by their last names only; Smith, Jones, Baker, Jackson, whatever. And you are to refer to me as ‘Master Chief.’"
He gave him a threatening glare honed by years of experience. "Do I make myself clear?”
“Aye, Aye, Master Chief!”
“Now that we’ve got that straight, what’s your last name?”
The seaman sighed.
“Darling, my name is John Darling, Master Chief.”
“Okay, John, here’s what I want you to do...”
An elderly woman had just returned to her home from an evening worship service and was startled to find an intruder in her house!
Catching the man in the act of burglarizing her home, she yelled, "STOP! Acts 2:38!" ("Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven.")
When the burglar heard this, he stopped dead in his tracks, blanched and raised two shaking hands. The woman quickly called the police and told them exactly what happened. They arrived minutes later with sirens blaring. Several officers strode in and took the unresisting man into custody.
As he was placing the handcuffs on the burglar, one of the officers asked, "Why did you just stand there? All the lady did was mention a scripture verse."
"Scripture? What scripture??" replied the confused burglar. "She said she had an axe and two 38s!"
Man walks up to the employee and says "Yeah, I would like uhhh...hhmm....the Polish sausage."
The employee kind of chuckles and says "Polish sausage, you must be Polish?"
The man gets immediately angry and yells "HEY, just cause I ordered a polish sausage don't make me Polish! if I ordered drench fries does that make me drench, if I order Swedish meatballs does that make me Swedish, if I ordered a Cuban sandwich does that make me Cuban? give me one good reason you have the right to think I'm Polish cause I ordered a polish sausage, cause I'm not Polish!!"
The employee sighs: "Sir, this is a hardware store."
A priest was approached one night by Satan himself.
"Do not be frightened," said Satan. "I have an offer to make. I will make you tremendously powerful, famous and rich in return for just one small favour: half of your ability to hear."
The priest was stunned. "Let me think about it for a few days."
The next morning, the priest requested to meet the bishop. "Your Excellency, I need your advice for a temptation I have been given!" He told over his strange encounter. The bishop was shocked. "A deal with Satan?! Do not do it, it will destroy your soul!"
But he could see the priest was not convinced. So the bishop arranged a meeting with the archbishop. "Your Excellency, this priest has an urgent matter he needs advice about!" He told over the story. The archbishop bowed his head in silent prayer, and after a few moments responded. "Firstly, your hearing is a gift from God. It would be forbidden to sacrifice any part of it. Secondly, a deal with Satan?!? Never do it!"
But the priest wasn't convinced. He was imagining all the wealth, fame and power he'd receive. So the archbishop requested an audience with the Pope.
The three of them came into the Papal office in great awe. They sat, and the archbishop spoke. "Your Holiness, this priest has a terrible temptation and needs advice!"
"Sorry," said the Pope, "could you speak a little louder?" 
Two nuns who worked in a hospital were out driving in the country when they ran out of gas. As they were standing beside their car on the shoulder of the road, a truck approached them
Noticing the nuns in distress, the trucker stopped and offered to help. When the nuns explained they had run out of gas, the trucker said he would be more than happy to drain some from his tank, but he didn't have a bucket or a can.
Hearing this, one of the nuns dug out a clean bedpan from the trunk and asked the trucker if it would do. He said it would and proceeded to drain a couple of quarts into the pan. He then handed the pan to the sisters, got back into his truck and waved goodbye.
While the nuns were carefully pouring the precious fuel into their gas tank, a cop happened by. He stopped and watched them for a few moments, then said, "Sisters, somehow I don't think that's going to work, but I sure do admire your faith!"
The eaglets were preparing to leave the nest and fly out into the world when their grandfather happened by.
He perched on the side of the nest to wish them well. The eaglets asked what grandfather liked to eat most.
"That'd have to be salmon, or maybe trout. Oh, one day soon you'll find out!"
A granddaughter asked, "What do you usually eat?"
"Rabbits are always good, and squirrels, you've seen squirrels?"
"Sure, we see a lot, running around on the branches."
"Keep an eye out, because those are tasty." Said the grand old eagle.
"An eagle-eye," a smart-mouthed grandson said, and was immediately smacked.
The granddaughter asked, "Birds, what about birds, do we eat those?"
"Well some, sure. Seagulls, those are fine, and pretty easy to catch." Answered the great eagle.
A grandson asked, "There's a big white bird with long legs, it lives by rivers and streams, do you know? Do you eat those?"
"I think you mean egrets?" his grandfather asked.
"That's right, egrets, have you eaten a lot of those?"
"Egrets, I've had a few, but then again, too few to mention."
An American and a Russian, who have sinned much in their life, both die in a car accident and go to Hell at the same time.
They are met at the gates by Satan, who offers them a choice: They can either go to American Hell or Russian Hell.
Both new arrivals are curious as to what the difference is, so Satan explains that in American Hell you are free to do whatever you want; you'll find that we have all the finest amenities here in Hell, whatever your heart desires, you can find it here! However, you have to eat a shovel-full of manure each morning, but then you're free to do whatever you'd like.
Russian hell is basically the same, but you have to eat TWO shovels full of manure before your start your day.
The American is quick to choose American hell, but is flabbergasted when the Russian chooses to go to Russian hell.
Several eons later the American bumps into the Russian and says "My Russian friend, Hell wasn't what I thought at all! Every day I play a round of golf on a beautiful golf course. I hang out with my friends at an amazing social club until late in the afternoon. I meet the most beautiful and charming women. Every night I have an incredible steak dinner at a Michelin Star restaurant. I honestly don't mind eating the shovel-full of manure in the morning anymore. I mean, it's no picnic, but you get used to it. One thing has bothered me all this time though, why did you choose to go to Russian Hell? Was it a mistake?"
The Russian shrugs: "No mistake. This is Russian Hell, most of the time there is no shovel, and the rest of the time there is no manure!"
An old man was walking in the desert with his donkey when he reached a village. The people welcomed him with everything they could, offering him hospitality, taking care of his donkey and feeding him.
While having dinner, he was surprised to be offered camel milk, as it is of notoriously bad taste. He thus asked about it and was told that the village has been cursed with an everlasting drought, and that the people have resorted to saving however little water they could find for crops.
"Truth be told, I am one of the wise.", he said, "I know how to bring you rain. However, you must first bring me a wide bucket full of water, for I need some to bring more."
The next morning, all of the villagers heard of his saying, and started collecting every drop of water they still had in reserve. In the end, there was barely enough to qualify for a bucket, and they gave it to the man.
He then took the water, and walked within his host's house. There, he took off his dirty clothes, and started washing them. A curious one of the kids saw him through the window, and went on to alert everyone around.
By the time they arrived, angry and shouting, it was already too late. The old man has washed all his clothes and was calmly hanging them.
"Shame! Shame on you, old man, for wasting our water when our kids don't have enough to drink!" growled the chief.
But as soon as he finished speaking, the sky darkened as the clouds gathered around the village. It started raining and it did not stop for 5 days straight. People got their fill, and everyone's reserves were overflowing. The old man was treated as a guest of honor and a hero, and the chief apologized profusely for ever doubting him.
Only when he was about to leave, had the kid gathered the courage to ask about how he did it. "It's simple," said the old man "this always happens when I hang my clothes to dry."
