For nearly two decades, Robert E. Jackson has dedicated himself to building a collection of almost 12,000 vintage photographs, the majority of which date from the 1920s to the late 1960s. The focus of his work is to capture the unusual and eerie aspects of everyday life. Though his initial focus was on family snapshots, Jackson expanded his scope to include do-it-yourself family Christmas cards, particularly those that date from the 1950s and 1960s. Most of his cards were acquired from eBay and ephemera shows, illustrating how Americans communicated holiday cheer during that bygone era.
