Here is an exciting smoothie recipe that's packed with flavor and nutrients. This Almond Orange smoothie uses in-season citrus as well as the nuttiness of almonds. It tastes delicious and keeps you full and refreshed. 

 

Note: Navel orange is a seedless orange that is ovate to oblong in shape. They are in season from November into June. They are typically sweet, aromatic, and mildly acidic. Cara Cara oranges are a navel orange variety. They are less tangy than other oranges and are very sweet.

Almond Orange Smoothie
Ingredients for Almond Orange Smoothie:
Navel orange - 2 (peeled)
Cara Cara orange - 2 (peeled)
Bananas - 1 (peeled)
Water - 1 cup
Vanilla Extract - 1/2 tsp.
Almond butter - 2 tbsp.
Method of preparing the Almond Orange Smoothie:
  1. Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend for 30 seconds to one minute until smooth. Serve cold.
