Hyperion, during the presentation of XP-1, shared a video that showcases the unique design and advanced technology that powers this supercar. Unlike traditional engines, this car is powered by a hydrogen engine, which enables it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (60 mph) in just 2.2 seconds and reach a top speed of over 220 mi/h (354 km/h) without using any fuel or internal combustion. Moreover, the car has an impressive driving range of approximately 1,000 miles (1,600 km) when the accelerator is not fully pressed. These remarkable features are not only due to the powerful engine, but also the lightweight and durable carbon fiber and titanium chassis that it is built upon.

The question of how the engine of the XP-1 works is a complex one, but it can be explained briefly to understand why this technology is likely to become more prevalent in the future. The engine is based on a hydrogen fuel cell, which is an assembly that generates electricity through the movement of electrons in an electrochemical cell. This electricity is what powers the car, without any combustion process that would create air pollution. Additionally, the engine produces a distinct noise. To refuel the XP-1, Hyperion has developed a mobile charging station that provides the car with hydrogen in a form that allows for energy production.

Aside from the hydrogen cell, the XP-1 has another unique energy feature. The elongated blades that wrap around the car's center serve a dual purpose. They not only enhance the vehicle's aerodynamics for maximum speed, but they also function as solar panels that can adjust their position based on the car's speed, turns, and the sun's position. When the car is stationary, the panels generate electricity for all of its internal systems. A tube carrying water vapor from the hydrogen tank runs between the back end of these blades, which produces a safe-to-touch blue flame at the car's rear.

The interior of this car is just as spectacular as the exterior, and there is no doubt that it gives the driver the feeling that he is flying in a spaceship. High-quality screens provide a display experience of information and images of the engine's condition, and there is even a special docking station for the car's "key" that activates all its systems and allows you to start driving. The XP-1 was created to be a prototype that demonstrates the many possibilities that lie in futuristic technology in the automotive world. Its development and construction required about 10 years of work, and although it was said in the past that the company would produce about 300 cars, this goal has not yet been reached.
