These Intricate Designs Turn Wood Into Beautiful Art

Zoe Feast is an American artist who’s best known for her beautiful fabric patterns. But in her latest art series, the artist expanded her artistic style to an entirely different medium. In this ongoing art series, Feast etched some of her awe-inspiring designs on slices of wood. The wood utilized in her project was sourced from a habitat restoration project. So each piece was ethically sourced and foraged by the artist herself.

Every wooden piece is unique. What unites them all is the dense botanical and animal patterns. These motifs were also inspired by local plantlife and wildlife, which makes them the perfect fit for a natural material like wood. Each design was etched into wood using a laser-etching machine.
