16 Quirky Ceramic Sculptures Inspired by Everyday Objects

Porcelain has been used in sculpture for centuries. Ceramic artwork is, in fact, one of the oldest crafts, and creative people throughout human history have made beautiful ceramic artworks. The porcelain artworks we are about to show you today have a unique twist – they look like three-dimensional drawings!
Award-winning London-based artist Katharine Morling makes handcrafted porcelain and ceramic sculptures with an illusionary effect that makes them look like quirky 3D drawings. The artist begins the process by first filling her sketchbook with drawings of everyday objects. Then, she chooses the figures she likes, and molds them in detail from clay. After finishing a piece, the artist outlines the edges and details with black ink instead of just leaving it in its plain ceramic form.
We have shared some of Morling's best works below. From an old typewriter to tubes of pain, these cartoonish black-and-white renditions of everyday objects will leave you charmed.
