Homemade Sweet Chili Sauce

Thai Chili sauce is all the rage right now in kitchens across the world. This is how you can make it at home! It will go perfectly well with our Delicious Buffalo Chicken Wings.

Homemade Sweet Chili Sauce
Ingredients for Sweet Chili Sauce:
Rice vinegar - 1/2 cup (or white vinegar)
White sugar - 1/2 cup
Water - 1/4 cup
Sherry wine - 2 tbsp.
Garlic - 3 cloves (crushed)
Chili flakes - 1-2 tbsp. (crushed)
Cornstarch - 1 1/2 tbsp. (dissolved in 4 tablespoons cold water)
Method of preparing the Sweet Chili Sauce:
  1. In a pot, mix all the ingredients, except for the cornstarch, and bring to a gentle boil. 
  2. Lower to medium heat and let the contents of the pot boil for about 10 minutes, or until the volume is reduced to half.
  3. Lower to a small flame, add the cornstarch and mix until you reach a smooth consistency. Keep mixing for about 2 minutes.
  4. Turn off the heat and adjust the seasoning, add sugar or chili as needed.
  5. Refrigerate the sauce in an airtight container. The sauce will stay fresh for 2-3 months.
