Today, we will treat you to some unique photographs of nature taken by Arie Van ‘T Riet. The Holland-based former radiation physicist isn’t your typical photographer; he specializes in creating stunning x-ray images of nature he calls ‘bioramas' using his knowledge of the x-ray machine.
Interestingly, Arie became an artist by accident. Once, his friend asked him to x-ray one of his paintings. He was so fascinated by the result that he decided to keep experimenting and began using this technique to take bioramas of plants and animals. Arie realized that even the most common specimens, such as dragonflies or frogs, looked otherworldly under the x-ray. Before long, he had developed an impressive portfolio of nature images that almost appear to be stunning artworks.
The artist digitally adds light colors to his images, and the results are pretty impressive. Take a look at some of his best works below.
