Sam Cooke is considered one of the very best singers of the 1950s and 1960s. Just between 1957 and 1964, Cooke had 40 US top hits to his name. Unlike many artists of his time, he was also a good businessman and founded his own record label. Unfortunately, Sam Cooke was shot and killed at the young age of 33. Who knows what great music the world missed out on because of his untimely death. That said, he has left us a lot of great songs, and these are 16 of his very best.
