As I was born during the early part of the Baby Boom, I used to approach computers with a mixture of apprehension and fear when they first started to become commonplace in households. However, what I've learned about them in the time since is that all it takes to learn how to use one properly is commitment. I've put a series of YouTube tutorials together for you, starting from the very basics:

Tutorial 1
The most basic device that you use to input information or give commands to your computer is the keyboard. This tutorial will show you its various uses.
Tutorial 2
A computer mouse is an input device that is most often used with a personal computer. Moving a mouse along a flat surface can move the on-screen cursor to different items on the screen. Items can be moved or selected by pressing the mouse buttons (called clicking). Learn how to use it in Tutorial 2.
Tutorial 3
The Start menu is the central launching point for launching your computer programs and performing other tasks. Learn more about it in Tutorial 3.
Tutorial 4
The Recycle Bin is used to remove files and programs on your computer that you no longer have use for. Learn how to temporarily and permanently delete files and programs in Tutorial 4.
Tutorial 5
A web browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, is a piece of software installed on your computer that allows you to access and navigate the internet. Tutorial 5 is a starter tutorial for web browsing.
Tutorial 6
Microsoft Word is the principle piece of software that you can use for word processing, such as writing documents, newsletters and others. Learn the basic layout of Word (and what the buttons do) in Tutorial 6.
Tutorial 7
Microsoft Excel is a piece of software that you can use to create spreadsheets. A common application is for budgeting expenses. Excel's use and basic functions are explained in Tutorial 7.
