Each work of the France-based artist Stéphanie Kilgast is a small garden. We invite you to explore each garden down to its deepest crevices - the world you'll discover is rich in detail and beauty. You can almost hear the stems of flowers stretching as they grow from a tice, Kilgast imitates how nature takes over discarded and forgotten in her practice books. Leave a book long enough in the forest, and a colony of fungus will grow on it. Leave it long enough at the bottom of the sea, and a colony of corals will settle on it.
In her works, Stéphanie Kilgast accelerates and salutes this process, portraying it in vibrant colors on an intimate, small scale. We hope you enjoy her work as much as we do.
