When you look at the pictures of wild animals below, you would be surprised at how realistic they look. From a fishing cat and Bengal Tiger to a barn owl and crested porcupine, these beautiful paper-cutting illustrations have been made by artist Vaishali in an attempt to raise awareness about nature and wildlife.
The artist begins the process with a sketch. Then, she designs the fur/feathers of the species from paper using a precision knife in different layers. Each layer is then meticulously colored using watercolors in the exact shade of the species. Furthermore, each animal is designed in a way that they look like they're either flying, or walking, or sitting in the sand, or perched on a twig. This gives viewers a sense of life in the artwork.
The entire process takes close to six hours but the result is pretty impressive as you will see for yourself here.
