Turkeys are the traditional centerpieces of most holiday meals, so how could you let your four-legged buddy miss out? According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, it's fine to give your pets a small amount of turkey. Just be sure that it's well-cooked and doesn't contain any bones whatsoever.
2. Mashed Potatoes
If your mashed potatoes contain nothing but potatoes, then it's OK to give a cat or a dog a small dollop as a treat. However, once milk, salt, and butter have been added, you should avoid giving it to them entirely.
3. Stuffing
Much to the dismay of cats and dogs around the world, stuffing is generally considered to be a big no-no! If your stuffing contains onions or garlic, it could end up in their red blood cells and cause gastroenteritis. If it contains raisins or grapes, it might even result in kidney failure.

Gravy is typically too rich for your pet's sensitive digestive system to deal with, so if you want to liven up their dinner you could add a hint of low-sodium chicken broth instead.
5. Sweet Potatoes
Much like with mashed potatoes, giving your pet a small amount of plain sweet potatoes should be fine. Giving them anything smothered in salt, sugar, butter or milk is not.
6. Carrots
Whether served raw or cooked, carrots are actually pretty good for cats and dogs. They're low in calories, yet high in vitamins and fiber. As a bonus, crunching on raw carrots is incredibly good for a dog's teeth.
7. Green Beans
Much like carrots, green beans are also low in calories and full of vitamins. In fact, you can actually turn green beans into a healthy treat for your pets to enjoy all year round!

Unless you're 100% sure that this holiday classic doesn't contain any harmful ingredients, it's probably best to avoid giving your pets any cranberry sauce. This is because many common ingredients found in cranberry sauce are toxic to pets, such as sugar, alcohol, raisins, grapes, and currants.
9. Chocolate
If you truly love your pets, then keep any kind of chocolate well away from them, no matter how much they beg and plead for a little nibble. This is because chocolate contains an alkaloid called theobromine, which is potentially deadly for both dogs and cats.
10. Pumpkin Pie
Most experts will tell you to avoid giving your pets a taste of pumpkin pie. This is because pumpkin pie typically contains lots of cream, sugar, and spices that may not be very good for your pets. If you want to give them a taste of the season, then you could let them have a scoop of plain, canned pumpkin instead.
