Homemade BBQ Sauce Recipe

Barbecue sauce is the perfect addition for when your grill meat! It has a little tang and sweetness and is smooth and thick in texture. It's used to coat everything from ribs to grilled chicken or as a topping for meat cooked in the barbecue cooking style. If you want more BBQ flavor in your life, you can even use the sauce on dishes such as BBQ Tatertot Casserole, BBQ Meatball Subs, BBQ Chicken Salad, and more.

Homemade BBQ Sauce  Recipe
Ingredients for Barbecue sauce:
Shallot - 2 (finely diced)
Tomatoes - 3 (chopped)
Canola oil - 1/2 tbs
White pepper - 1/2 tsp
Tomato paste - 1 tbsp
coffee - 3/4 cup (strong)
vegetable stock - 2/3 cup
Onion powder - 1/2 tsp
Garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
Red wine vinegar - 2 tbsp
Cumin - 2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Method of preparing the Barbecue sauce:
  1. In a pot, fry the onions and pepper in the canola oil over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. When the onions become translucent, add the tomatoes. Cook for 5 minutes, or until the tomato juice evaporates.
  3. Add the tomato paste to the pot. After one minute of cooking, slowly pour the coffee into the pot.
  4. Add the rest of the ingredients. Turn off the flame, transfer the contents of the pot to a blender, and blend until you reach a smooth and even consistency.
  5. Pour the mixture back into the pot and cook over a medium heat for 15 minutes, until the mixture becomes a thick sauce. 
  6. Taste and fix seasoning if needed. The sauce will stay fresh for 2-3 months.
