Pool tricks Swimming freestyle or butterfly is the best way to achieve toned arms. If you don’t enjoy laps, you can try these alternative and quicker exercises.
Another pool exercise is the water fly, which works the chest and rear delts. Stand in shoulder-deep water, place your arms on the side and lift your thumbs up, keeping your fingers closed. Push the water forward with straight arms and move your arms in front of you. Return to starting position by putting your thumbs down and pressing your arms back. Repeat this exercise 15 times. |

The side plank pose is another position which can target your arms. You first need to be in plank position. Lift your right arm up, and press into your left foot while rotating your hips, and stacking your feet. You can also hold this pose for 3 to 5 breaths. When you’ve finished, you can do it from the other side. |

Steering wheel toning
You can even tone your arms while sitting in traffic. Firstly place your hands on the steering wheel at 3 and 9 o’clock, and then press your palm inwards. This helps strengthen the chest. Hold this squeeze for 10-20 seconds and repeat. You can also target your rear delts by placing your hands inside the steering wheel and pressing outwards. |
