Discover the Beauty of Lithuania

Nestled in the Eastern part of Europe, Lithuania is a land of forests and lakes and is quickly gaining recognition as one of Europe's gems. Located in the southernmost part of the Baltics, Lithuania is a nature-lover's delight, while lacking nothing in urban landscape. In the photo series below, captured by Vaidas Gegužis we take a look at this beautiful country.

1. The Baltic Sea offers one of the most beautiful coastlines in Europe.

Lithuania's coastline is 90km long. While it may not span such a large distance, it is impressively beautiful. And its sandy beaches, white dunes and fishermen villages will undoubtedly impress.
2. During the 1500s, works to protect the core of the city with masonry walls and five gates commenced.

This wall formed a closed space spanning 3km. The wall measured 12m high and 1.5m thick.

Vilnuis had great influence on the cultural and architectural development of Eastern Europe in the 18th century. And while it had been attacked and destroyed on numerous occasions, it retained its impressive Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Classicist buildings.

10. Christmas is one of the most magical times to visit Vilnius. Expect to see some of the best Christmas markets in Europe and one of the most impressive Christmas trees you will ever see.
