The Great Grey Owl has also been called Great Grey Ghost, Phantom of the north, Cinerous Owl, Spectral Owl, Lapland Owl, Spruce Owl, Bearded Owl and Sooty Owl. This Owl is the provincial bird emblem of Manitoba, Canada.

These long, slender creatures are well-equipped for living in the water. Otters are known to hold hands in groups while they eat, sleep and rest, to prevent families losing each other, and are even known to wrap sea plants around them to secure the bond.
