When I was a kid, I remember my mother liked to make bagels for my father from time to time.
I remember one night in particular, when she had made the bagels.
It was after a long hard day at work, and the bagels she had made were forgotten a little too long and got burnt.
That evening, mom placed a plate in front of my father with the burnt bagels and on the side put a cup of tea.
I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed ...
It seems to me that my father did not notice the burned bagels, he smiled at my mother looked over to me and asked me how my day was at school. I do not remember what I said to him that night, but I remember hearing how my mom apologized to my dad for burning the bagels.
I'll never forget what he said to her: "My dear wife, I love burnt bagels...".
Later that night, when I went to kiss my father Good night, I asked him if he really loves burnt bagels.
He wrapped me in his arms and said: "Your mother was a long hard day at work and she's really very tired, and besides.. burnt bagels never hurt anyone! You know, life is full of things that are not perfect .. people think they're perfect. I'm not the best in everything myself, and over the years I've noticed that your mother learned to accept all my faults, and still chooses to pay attention to all of my good qualities. finding a line connecting our differences, is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy atmosphere and long-term relationships."
I learned from my father that day. I learned that life is too short to bother with trifles. To love the people who treat you favorably and those who have not forgotten.
