With brick, glass, metal, and concrete everywhere the eye can see, urban landscapes can lack color and soul. Internationally-acclaimed artist Mona Caron creates massive colorful murals of plants that decorate the gray walls of buildings in cities all over the world, adding a splash of natural beauty to the urban blandness of cities.
And Caron’s choice of specimens may surprise you. Within the framework of her ongoing Weeds series, Caron painted a 6-stories-tall mural of blooming milkweed in Denver, a cluster of blooming balsamroots in Walnut Creek, California, and other murals depicting vegetation in Switzerland, Spain, and Taiwan.
