Raking dead leaves from our yard at the end of the season can be quite an annoying chore. If only those dying leaves wouldn’t litter our beautiful gardens, we could save so much time. But not everyone thinks dead leaves are useless. In fact, artist Solange Nunes bases her art on them.
This Brazilian artist loves embroidery and uses different mediums to try it out. In recent years, she has found that brittle or dying leaves can make for a great canvas for her artwork. In these pictures, we have presented some of the best works of Solange as xshe brings dead leaves back to life with her colorful embroideries. Her inspirations are generally from nature – birds, flowers, trees, or butterflies – and even simple things like a boat or a quaint cottage. The results, however, look quite delightful.
