Raccoons are obviously super cute and funny, but there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to these panda-like furballs. It turns out that they are also quite intelligent. A researcher over 100 years ago did a memory test to compare dogs, monkeys, raccoons, and children, and he claimed that the raccoons and kids were the smartest!
That being said, the antics of raccoons are best appreciated from afar. According to Dr. Suzanne MacDonald from the Department of Psychology at York University, in Toronto, feeding a raccoon that comes to your doorstep is a big no-no. “If you feed them, they will come — and they will tell their friends. You will regret it, trust me!” she said in a statement to Bored Panda. And while feeding them isn’t advised, no one said anything about appreciating the hilarity of raccoons online, which is exactly what you’ll find in this photo collection.
