If you don’t own a cat or a dog yourself you surely know someone who does. You probably also know someone who has a different kind of pet, one that is less frequently seen, maybe a bird, a snake, or a bunny. But do you know of anyone who is raising a hedgehog as a pet?
Talitha Girnus, a 27-year-old from Wiesbaden, Germany is not only the proud owner of two cute hedgehogs, she is the extremely proud owner of the most famous hedgehogs in the world. It all started with Mt. Pokee, a little hedgehog she adopted about 5 years ago. Talitha started sharing pictures and stories of her journey raising Mr. Pokee on her Instagram page, which became wildly popular. Today she and Mr. Pokee have 1.8 million followers and Talitha’s full-time job became curating content for her Instagram, answering emails and making stickers, calendars, and hedgehog merchandise.
“Amazing people from all over the world are inspired to follow our adventures especially because they love our message: Between all the serious things happening in the world every day, Pokee and now also Herbee are here to give you a reason to be happy and smile,” Talitha wrote on her website.
