For the past six years, Vincent Bal (previously here, and here) has been using surprising and unusual mediums to create his artworks. By combining light, shadow, everyday items he finds around his home, a pen, and a camera, he creates funny and witty illustrations. He manages to transform three-dimensional objects into two-dimensional illustrations made of shadow and ink.
This series, titled Shadowology, sprang into Bal's mind when he was working on a film he was directing back in 2016. As the story goes, the shadow of his teacup reminded him of an elephant. Being a visual creator, he immediately took a pen and illustrated his imagination into reality. Fortunately, he didn’t stop there. He filled an entire Instagram page with illustrations made of shadow and ink.
