Some grannies spend their time gardening, others knit, but 87-year-old Concha Garcia Zaera enjoys a hobby that’s rather unusual among her friends. She draws, using only Microsoft Paint. She discovered the program when her children bought her a computer, and she hasn’t looked back since.
Her husband fell ill and she had to take care of him, so she couldn’t go out very often. She started off painting little things: first a house, then the next day she’d add a mountain, for example. Little by little, her work became extremely pretty.
She claims to have no imagination at all, so she gets all her inspiration from the postcards that her husband used to send her or drawings that she finds and likes. She spends around two weeks on each of her creations to ensure that she captured every little detail.
This amazing Spanish woman used to only post her work on Facebook, but one of her granddaughters suggested that she should use Instagram instead. She now has around 108,000 people following her.
