The issue of women driving in Saudi Arabia is one that has been debated and fought within the country for a long time. It was only a few weeks ago that we heard this from Saudi Arabia - that women should not be driving because it may 'cause harm' to their ovaries. This 'fact' is of course a complete fabrication. Many protests and supporters of Saudi Arabian women have made their voices heard in this matter. This following satirical song is one of the best ways we've seen to protest this absurd procelamation - a song that pokes fun at this notion, while adapting the classic song of Bob Marley - no woman no cry. This is actually quite a brave thing to do, as the singers may become a target themselves... So if you want to show some solidarity with the opressed female drivers of Saudi Arabia, have a laugh, and send this to friends and family, so no one forgets this struggle. |
