Homemade Thousand Island Dressing Recipe

The well-known Thousand Island dressing makes every salad a pleasure to the senses. It primarily consists of mayonnaise, ketchup, onion, and garlic, and has a tangy and zesty flavor. While it's commonly used as a salad dressing, it can also be used as a spread for sandwiches as well as a dip along with many different starters.

Homemade Thousand Island Dressing Recipe
Ingredients for Thousand Island Dressing:
Mayonnaise - 1/2 cup (you can use homemade)
ketchup - 2 tbs (you can use homemade)
Horseradish - 2 tbs
Onion - 2 tsp (finely diced)
Garlic - 1/4 tsp (finely diced)
White vinegar - 1 tsp.
Salt - A pinch
Tobacco - 2-3 drops (optional)
Method of preparing the Thousand Island Dressing:
  1. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl until a smooth consistency is reached.
  2. Cool the mixture for at least an hour, so all the flavors blend together. 
  3. The dressing will stay fresh for 3-4 days.
Chef's Tip:
Thousand Island dressing is also great as a vegetable dip.
