Artist Joe Mangrum has been adorning the streets of Chicago, San Francisco and New York with incredibly beautiful and colorful sand paintings that create sprawling pieces of art. Each work has no initial design, but is spontaneously created and evolves as the artist works. Joe spends about 6-8 hours hunched over the ground to create each piece, and after he takes a photo of it, he let's the wind take it away.
Over the last few years, he has created over 500 of these pieces, with some of them appearing in galleries, the Museum of Arts and Design in NYC, and has even appeared on Sesame Street!
