Summer is upon us, and there's nothing nicer on a hot day then a cold watermelon. But why serve it in a boring way when you can make your own watermelon tap in a matter of minutes? These simple instructions will show you how you can decorate your next party or picnic and surprise your friends with this DIY watermelon faucet! |

First, buy these parts at any hardware store for less than $10, you'll need an easy to clean faucet. |

The next ingredient is of course - the watermelon. Get the biggest one you can find, but narrow, so that the watermelon has good balance and also so the juice can easily come down. Tip: Get 2 watermelons, because you may make a mistake on your first try! |

Now take off the top of the watermelon. |
![]() |
Now take out the insides and put them in a bowl. Use a knife and table spoon, and make sure the shell remains intact. |
![]() |
Create a small hole in the base of the hollowed out watermelon. Make sure you've emptied it completely first, or you'll get sticky juice all over the place. |
![]() |
Now insert the hollow piece through the hole you created. Make sure the hole is as small or smaller than the piece. If it's too small, just gently cut with a knife until you can fit the piece tightly without space between it and the watermelon. |

Use the plastic wedge to make sure the piece sits tight and doesn't move. |
![]() |
If it isn't completely sealed, use plastic wrap or a plastic bag to seal the opening of the faucet as tight as possible. |
![]() |
Now it's time to fill her up! Create a shake out of the watermelon pieces you dug out. You can add ice, alcohol or any other combination you'd like to have. |

Connect the faucet to the opening... and you're done! |

A completed watermelon faucet. |

Now you can enjoy a refreshing drink served in a creative and fun way! |

This is great at parties or even in outdoor picnics. |

People will definitely want to know how you did this, and talk about it for some time to come! |
