His career began in 1969, and he has since played more than 3,500 concerts in over 80 countries. He has had more than 50 Top 40 hits, including seven consecutive Number 1 US albums. One of his most loved songs, Candle in the Wind (the 1997 edition), sold over 33 million copies worldwide, becoming the best-selling single in the history of the UK and US singles charts in the process.
