The first thing you notice about Alyssa Monk's paintings, is how realistic they look, as if the painting is just ready to spring into action and start living on its own, turning an ordinary scene into something a lot more special. The second thing you notice is the repeating motive of water in her paintings, whether we see the world through a shower curtain or swim in the ocean, Alyssa's paintings seem to love combining people and water in creative and beautiful ways.
