Located in Estonia, Rummu Prison used to be one of the Soviet Union’s worst labor camps, used to punish dissidents and enemies of the state. Located in a quarry, the prisoners were used as cheap labor. After the fall of the Soviet Union, the prison was abandoned and the quarry was flooded, and a site that used to put fear in people’s hearts – became an amazingly exotic beach! |
