Stuart Dunkel, born in 1952 and still active, is an American oboist and painter known for his realistic style. He has a deep affection for animals, particularly evident in his distinctive mouse-themed artworks. Dunkel, a New Jersey native, started painting and playing the piano at the age of five. He made a career shift to fine art at the age of 42 after having established himself as a renowned musician and performing with top orchestras worldwide.
Dunkel draws influence from the creativity of Dutch painters between 1550 and 1720, who excelled at conveying lucid imagery and painting with incomparable beauty. His early interest in Salvador Dali may also have contributed to the surreal characteristics of his work.
Dunkel's small-scale paintings of mischievous mice earned him acclaim around the world. These paintings, beyond their delightful exterior, embody Stuart's intellect and artistic flair. Presented here is a compilation of Stuart Dunkel's most adorable mouse paintings.
