Using the squash for art is not a new idea. Various culptures have turned their hard peel into tools. However, when American artits Marilyn Sunderland gets a squash in hand, it's a whole different matter. Sunderland combines sculpting, wittling and painting to turn these works of nature to rare works of art.
Her talent is immediately observable to any who check out her works, and the amazingly rich detailing she puts in every knife and brush stroke. Her works have gotten such attention she's been invited to present them at the White House. Here is a selection of her incredible works:
