As Laleh Mohmedi (previously written about here), the author of these artworks and mother of little Jacob and Charlie stated online, these adorable creations started by chance and turned into a full-time hobby. In the spring of 2015, Laleh turned her son's pancakes into a lion just for fun.
Jacob loved the adorable lion and continued asking his mom to make foods based on characters from his favorite cartoons and toys. Eventually, Laleh started sharing her food creations online. Soon after, her Instagram page blew up and received worldwide coverage. The food artist also says that she tries to incorporate as many healthy ingredients as she can. She prefers to use fresh produce and tints certain foods, such as mashed potatoes, bread, and rice with only vegetable dyes and natural powders like beetroot juice and activated charcoal.
