Mug Donuts

I always thought the microwave was an appliance for thawing frozen goods or warming up leftovers. Then I discovered microwave recipes! This mug recipe will help you enjoy homemade donuts without the messy frying process.

Ingredients for Mug Donuts:
Sugar - 3/4 cup
Egg - 1 large
All-Purpose flour - 1 1/2 cup
Baking powder - 2 tsp.
Salt - 1/4 tsp.
Nutmeg - 1/4 tsp.
Vegetable oil - 1/4 cup
Milk - 3/4 cup
Vanilla Extract - 1 tsp.
Dark chocolate - 4 oz (chopped)
Heavy cream - 1/2 cup
Method of preparing the Mug Donuts:
  1. Whisk the sugar and egg together in a large bowl, until mixed. Add the flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
  2. Mix in the oil, milk, and vanilla extract until the batter is smooth.
  3. Fill a 2 large mugs half full with batter. Microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds on high.
  4. In a separate bowl, heat heavy cream for about 40 seconds in the microwave.
  5. Pour the heated heavy cream into a bowl and add the chopped chocolate. Mix until smooth and drizzle over the donuts.
