Are you a parent who is struggling to get their child to eat properly? You are not alone, of course. Almost all parents go through this phase where it becomes a great task just to get their children to eat even half of their meal. Sometimes they throw away the food from their plates and sometimes they simply refuse to eat no matter how persistent you are. You know that nutrition is important for young ones but you are getting frustrated at going through mealtime battles day after day.
So what can you do to make meals appealing to your kids?
Leah Hackney, a registered dietitian with a passion for helping parents with their children, has observed that plenty of families these days experience food-related stress. She believes that a lot of these issues can be prevented or changed if parents can learn some simple and basic knowledge about food. Most importantly, though, parents need to learn how to talk to their children about food.
To help parents manage meals better with their young ones, Hackney created an Instagram account where “you can find easy tips on how to help your child add variety to their diet, implement mindful eating behaviors, mealtime strategies, and relevant information on feeding your infant, toddler or adolescent," she was quoted as saying to Bored Panda.
Let’s then check out some of the useful tips and tricks that the nutritionist suggests. These handy strategies might well help parents forge a better food relationship with their children.
