MS is caused by damage to the myelin sheath, the protective covering that surrounds nerve cells. When this cover is damaged, nerve signals slow down or stop completely. This damage is usually caused by inflammation which occurs when the body’s own cells start to attack the nervous system. This damage can occur anywhere in the brain or spinal cord.
Although no specific cause is yet known, some possible causes include infections, emotional stress, mold toxicity, toxic exposure, food allergies, vitamin D deficiency, and hormonal imbalances.
Multiple Sclerosis Symptoms
These vary widely, but the most common symptoms include:
• Trouble thinking
• Blurred or double vision
• Lack of coordination
• Loss of balance
• Tingling weakness in an arm or leg
• Numbness
It’s important to note that MS symptoms can display differently in everyone. However, the good news is that there are some natural treatments for MS that are effective and in many cases, can reverse or greatly improve the condition.

In order to aid your recovery from this disease, it’s important to follow a diet that is high in healthy fats and nutrients.
Unprocessed foods – Choose whole, organic, unprocessed foods as often as possible.
Coconut oil – This contains large amounts of medium chain fatty acids that help support the brain and nervous system.
Fresh fruit and vegetables – Aim for a variety of colors to provide antioxidants that can prevent free radical damage.
Omega-3 fats – The EPA/DHA fats found in wild-caught fish can help to reduce inflammation.
Cabbage and bean sprouts – Foods that are high in lecithin may help strengthen your nerves.

Processed foods – Reduce your exposure to toxins and chemicals by avoiding processed foods.
Gluten – People suffering from MS usually have a gluten-intolerance and gluten can make symptoms worse.
Sugar – Lowers your immune response and causes systematic inflammation and premature aging.
Alcohol – Increases inflammation and can create a toxic environment inside your body.

Fish oil (2,000 mg daily) – This can help reduce inflammation and promote better nerve functioning.
High potency multi-vitamins – They provide the basic nutrients needed for immune function.
Digestive Enzymes (1-2 capsules with meals) – This will help with digestion and can reduce autoimmune reactions to foods.
Vitamin D3 (5,000 IU daily) – Vitamin D helps to modulate the immune system, while supporting the brain and nervous system.
Vitamin B12 (1,000 mcg daily) – Vitamin B12 helps with the formation of nerves.
Essential Oils for Multiple Sclerosis
Frankincense and helichrysum essential oils support the body’s neurological system.
Take two drops of frankincense internally 3 times a day for 3 weeks, then take one week off, and repeat the cycle.
Rub 2 drops of helichrysum on your temples and neck twice a day.
