In the world of Chinese street art, the name Chen Yingjie is as well known as it is admired. Training in classic Chinese painting and illustration, his unique style of art often explores new ways of combining western graffiti styles with traditional Chinese methods and elements. This series of fascinating 'splatter' paintings is an example of his use of 'controlled chaos' to bring about an organized confusion that is both colorful and beautiful, and can reveal new details the more we look at the image. |
