13 Things You Shouldn‘t Do in the Shower

The shower is our time to cleanse the body and mind at the end or the beginning of the day, and this pleasure is a wonderful invention that we have in the 21st century which was not so common and available to everyone until 100 years ago. However, although the goal of the shower is to maintain our hygiene, health, and beauty, and it's a very bad idea not to have one, most of us make a few mistakes that spoil the process and make it more harmful than helpful. Here are the 13 mistakes almost all of us make in the shower, so be sure to avoid them!

1. Don’t shower every day Scientists claim that showering too often removes the skin’s oily layer that harbors good bacteria which protects it. Doing so ultimately leads to dry skin and increases your risk of skin infections.
2. Don’t scrub your scalp with your fingernails If you do, you’ll just cause yourself dandruff. Instead, use your finger pads.
3. Don’t wait too long after exercising to shower The sweat on your skin helps bacteria develop and leads to rashes, therefore, it’s important to wash your body as soon as possible.
4. Avoid using oil products in the shower When those oils are washed off they coat your bathroom floor in an oily layer which can increase your risk of slipping and falling in the shower.
 5. Don’t leave your loofa in the shower Rise your loofa out well and leave it to dry outside of your shower, if you don’t, it can become a breeding house for bacteria.
6. Avoid showering in hot water only Try alternating between hot and cold water throughout your shower. Doing so will help strengthen your immune system instead of weakening it, and this method is considered very effective in overcoming anxiety. Additionally, it’s recommended to wash your facial skin with tepid or cold water only.
7. Don’t wrap your hair in a towel after washing it Doing so will only leave your hair wet and will lead to weak and fragile hair follicles.
8. Don’t use conditioner on your scalp or roots Applying conditioner directly to your scalp weakens the hair and causes shedding as a result of its inability to bear the conditioners weight. Use conditioner only on the ends of your hair.
9. Don’t forget to regularly clean your shower head If you don’t, bacteria will start to build their home in it which will put you at risk for various respiratory diseases. Current research even confirmed that 1 in 3 shower heads contains large amounts of bacteria that are dangerous to the respiratory system.

10. Don’t use an exfoliator during every shower Dermatologists recommend exfoliating the skin no more than 2-3 times a week, in accordance with your skin type.
11. Don’t leave razors in the shower Razors tend to accumulate bacteria in a very humid environment. It’s best to leave your razor in a cabinet after drying it well with a towel
12. Moisturize right after showering If you usually moisturize your body after a shower, do it right after showering and don’t wait for your skin to completely dry. Dermatologists claim that this is the best way for the skin to trap in the shower water’s moisture.

13. Wash your towels after 3 showers Avoid using
