A 3-Ingredient Solution to Clean Your Bathtub

Raise your hand if you love cleaning the bathroom! What? No takers? Okay, let’s be more specific: What about your bathtub? Yep…didn’t think so! Getting down on our hands and knees to scrub the grime off a bacteria-filled surface isn’t our idea of fun either. That’s why we’ve decided to share a fantastic DIY solution with you that will leave your bathtub looking spick and span with just a minimal amount of scrubbing.

A Concoction to Keep Your Bathtub Clean

Disclaimer: This particular cleaning hack should only be used on enamel surfaces. The other different materials used to make tubs, such as fiberglass and cast iron, tend to be a lot more delicate than enamel. Therefore, it’s important to check your tub before proceeding with this cleaning method.

To make this cheap and highly effective cleaning concoction, you will need to gather the following ingredients:

• Baking soda
• Dish soap
• An essential oil of your choice (we prefer lemon or orange for this one)

Directions

1. Add a ¼ cup of baking soda and a ¼ cup of dish soap into a medium-sized bowl.

2. Add approximately 10 drops of essential oil, and mix well.

N.B. This mixture does not last very long, so be sure to only make what you need.

Now it’s important that you don’t just slap the mixture onto your bath and go about with your day. This solution will break down scum much faster than store-bought options, but there is a procedure that you must follow.
