One of the differences that always catch me off guard, though, is how the sounds animals make can be perceived so differently by people from different countries. I mean, a woof is a woof isn't it? Well, apparently sometimes a woof is a Guau or Blaf, sometimes Gav or Bau. Same goes for all the other animal sounds we thought we knew so well.
