Oily or Acne-Prone Skin
Egg White Mask
The egg white tightens and shrinks the pores and absorbs the excess oil from the skin, making it a useful and effective means of treating acne.
• Separate the white from the yolk.
• Whisk the white with a teaspoon of lemon juice for about a minute.
• Above the sink, apply the mask to a clean, dry face.
• Leave the mask on for 10 to 15 minutes.
• Rinse well with warm water.
Green Clay Mask
Green clay is effective against unwanted pimples because it absorbs toxins and oil that the skin produces.
• Put 2 tablespoons of green clay powder into a bowl (available in health stores) and mix with water until thick.
• Add a few drops of essential oil, such as rosemary oil, to the bowl.
• Apply the mask to a clean, dry face.
• Leave the mask on for 15 minutes until the clay hardens.
• Rinse with warm water and dry well.
If you aren’t allergic to aspirin and you have oily or acne-prone skin, try this mask. The salicylic acid in aspirin is very effective in treating acne because of its drying effect.
• Crush 4 uncoated aspirin tablets in a bowl with hot water, and mix until you create a liquid ointment. If you prefer a thicker mixture, add a little honey.
• Mix well and apply to acne-affected skin areas.
• Make sure your face is dry and clean and that the mixture does not come into contact with your eyes or nostrils.
• Leave the mask on for 10 minutes to two hours, then wash with warm water.
The fats in the avocado provide great moisture for dry skin, and you can use them to improve your skin condition.
• In a bowl, mash half an avocado.
• Add a tablespoon of honey to the bowl.
• If your skin tends to tingle, add a little yogurt for its relaxation effect.
• If you want to enrich the skin with additional moisture, add ½ a cup of extra virgin olive oil.
• You can add an essential oil of your choice to enhance the effect of the mask.
• When all ingredients have been mixed together, apply the mask to a clean and dry face and neck.
• Leave for 15 to 20 minutes and then wash it off thoroughly.
The yellow energy bomb is rich in vitamin C and E, two natural ingredients that help maintain skin elasticity.
• Peel a banana and mash it.
• Add 2 tablespoons of honey for a stronger cleansing effect.
• If the mixture is too thick, dilute it with a little water.
• Apply the mask to a clean, dry face.
• Leave the mask on your face for 10 to 20 minutes and then rinse it with warm water.
Tired and Lifeless Skin
The enzymes in papaya make this fruit an effective natural product that fights free radicals that damage our skin.
• Peel the papaya and remove the seeds. Cut it into small pieces.
• Put the papaya pieces in the blender and add ½ a cup of honey.
• Blend the ingredients until you get a puree.
• Apply the mask to a clean, dry face and avoid contact with the eye area.
• Leave the mask on the skin for 10-15 minutes and rinse thoroughly with warm water.
Lemon and Salt Scrub
The combination of lemon juice and sea salt not only smells wonderful but also does wonders for skin restoration.
• Mix a ¼ cup sea salt with lemon juice.
• If you want to get a thick mixture, add just a little lemon juice. If you want a runnier mixture, add a lot of lemon juice.
• Apply the mixture to a clean, dry face in a circular motion. Be careful to avoid sensitive areas.
• Leave the mask on for a few minutes for the ingredients to absorb and remove the dead cells, then rinse thoroughly with warm water.
Oatmeal is a great solution for removing dead cells and dirt, due to its wonderful peeling effect. The milk in this mask contains lactic acid which is also excellent for removing dead cells.
• Mix 2 tablespoons of uncooked oats with a glass of milk in a small pot.
• Heat until thick.
• Remove from heat and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to increase its moisturizing ability.
• Wait for the mixture to cool slightly and apply it to clean, dry skin.
• Wait 20 to 30 minutes and then rinse the mask off with warm water.
Burnt or Irritated Skin
This mask will calm a face that is irritated or sunburnt. The lactic acid in yogurt helps calm the skin and its probiotics naturally treat irritation.
• Place 1 cup yogurt (unsweetened) on dry, clean skin.
• Leave on skin for 15 to 20 minutes and rinse with warm water.
• If the face is sunburned, consider mixing 2 teaspoons of aloe vera with the yogurt to increase the cooling effect.
Pumpkin contains vitamin A, which is effective in protecting the skin against infections and contaminants.
• Mix 2 teaspoons of pumpkin puree with ½ a teaspoon honey and ½ a teaspoon heavy cream.
• Mix the ingredients to form a thick paste and apply to clean dry skin.
• Leave for 10 minutes and rinse well in warm water.
