Chickpea Brownies

These brownies won't make you gain weight. They contain natural proteins from chickpeas (garbanzo beans), which are perfect for those who want to get more protein in their diet but don't feel like committing to protein powder. This recipe is also gluten-free.

Chickpea Brownies
Ingredients for Chickpea Brownies:
Canned chickpeas (garbanzo beans) - 1 can (drained and rinsed)
Cocoa powder - 1/3 cup
Coconut sugar - 2/3 cup
Eggs - 2
Coconut milk - 2 tbsp.
Baking powder - 2 tsp.
Chocolate chips - 1/2 cup (dark)
Coffee - 1 tsp. (optional)
Method of preparing the Chickpea Brownies:
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet fit for brownies.
  2. Mix all the ingredients at once in a blender or a food processor until the mixture is completely smooth.
  3. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
  4. Allow them to cool for 20 minutes, then cut into squares and serve.
Chef's Tip:
Expert tip: bake until the brownies are ready, then give them a minute or 2 on high heat for an extra crispy exterior, but keep an open eye so that your brownies don't burn.
