A group of campers have been on vacation so long, that they've forgotten the day of the week. The following conversation takes place.
Darryl: What's the day? I don't think it is Thursday, Friday or Saturday.
Tracy: Well that doesn't narrow it down much. Yesterday was Sunday.
Melissa: Yesterday wasn't Sunday, tomorrow is Sunday.
Ben: The day after tomorrow is Saturday.
Adrienne: The day before yesterday was Thursday.
Susie: Tomorrow is Saturday.
David: I know that the day after tomorrow is not Friday.
If only one person's statement is true, whatday of the week is it?
It is Wednesday. If it was any other day of the week, more than one statement would be true.
To solve the riddle, evaluate each person's statement and write down whatday it could be according to the statement.
David's statement indicates it could be any day of the week except for Wednesday. When you list the days that it could be according to everyone's statement, it turns out Wednesday is the day mentioned only one time.
Darryl: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday
Tracy: Monday
Melissa: Saturday
Ben: Thursday
Adrienne: Saturday
Susie: Friday David: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday
I have a clock in my house, on the wall.
On a summer's dayI forgot to wind it and it stopped. Then I went to visit a friend who had a watch that was always right on time. After Istayed for a bit, I went home, made a simple alteration and set the clock just right.
Now how did I do this when I had no watch on me to tell how long it took me to come back from my friend's place?
Before I left, I wound the wall clock. Upon my return, the amount of change that I could see in the clock is how long it took to go to my friends place and come back, adding to that the time I spent there, which I know because the clock at my friend's place is accurate.
Subtracting the time of the visit from the time I was absent from my house, and dividing by 2, I obtained the time it took me to return home. I added this time to whatmy friend watch showed when I left, and set the sum on my wall clock.

People put me in water, but I'm not dirty laundry.
I have a stem, but I'm not a wine glass.
People gift me on Valentine's day, but I'm not a stuffed animal.
What am I?
I know whatmy job is, The point has been made. You say I have a big head, And you're right, I'm afraid. Put me in my place, And then leave me alone. WhatI need most, Is someone to drive me home. What am I?
Every dawn begins with me
At dusk I’ll be the first you see
And daybreak couldn’t come without
What midday centers all about
Daises grow from me, I’m told
And when I come, I end all cold
But in the sun I won’t be found
Yet still, each day I’ll be around.
