A favorite by Teddy Roosevelt:
"I talk, but I do not speak my mind
I hear words, but I do not listen to thoughts
When I wake, all see me
When I sleep, all hear me
Many heads are on my shoulders
Many hands are at my feet
The strongest steel cannot break my visage
But the softest whisper can destroy me
The quietest whimper can be heard."
I say everything I hear to others around. I'm not an animal, nor part of the human race. I will, immediately, repeat after you; But only if my tail is in place. What am I?
You will find me in the mountains, and you'll find me in a creek.
I have no mouth, but I speak every tongue.
I have no ears, yet I answer every cry, and I always have the final word.
What am I?
My first letter is in window but not in pane.
My second's in road but not in lane.
My third is in oval but not in round.
My fourth is in hearing but not in sound.
My whole is known as a sign of peace.
And from Noah's Ark, I won quick release.
What am I?
A pet shop owner had a parrot with a sign on its cage that said "Parrot repeats everything it hears". Davey bought the parrot and for two weeks he spoke to it and it didn't say a word. He returned the parrot but the shopkeeper said he never lied about the parrot. How can this be?
A young man entered a pet shop in search of a talking parrot. On one of the cages, he saw a sign saying, "This parrot repeats everything it hears." The man bought the parrot and tried to teach it to speak. Yet, he was unsuccessful. The bird didn't say one word in over 2 weeks. So the man decided to return the parrot and accused the shopkeeper of lying. However, the shopkeeper insisted that he was saying the truth...
How is this possible?
One day, the police found a man dead inside a hut. In his left hand, he's holding a gun. In his right hand, he has a recording. When the recording is played, the police hear the man talking about how horrible life is and how he wants it to end. The recording ends with a gunshot. The police are about to call it a suicide until you point out a very important clue. What is it?
A man entered his house and was about to hang up his coat when he heard his wife shout;
"No John! Donโt do it!"
There was a shot and he could hear his wife fall down. When he entered the kitchen he saw his wife and the gun lying on the floor. There was a police officer, a doctor, and a lawyer standing next to her. Peter immediately knew that the police officer had shot her.
But how did he come to know?
Walking home one day, you take a short cut along the train tracks. The tracks cross a narrow bridge over a deep gorge. At the point you are 3/8 of the way across the bridge, you hear the train whistle somewhere behind you. You charge across the bridge, and jump off the track as the train is about to run you down. As it happens, if you had gone the other way, you would have reached safety just before being run over as well. If you can run ten miles per hour, how fast is the train moving?
The train is moving at 40 miles per hour.
if there was a dog going towards the train while you go away from it as the whistle blows, he will reach his point when you are 3/4 (6/8) of the way on the bridge, the train will have just reached it. So for the train to cross the bridge at a rate four times yours it will have to be moving 4 times as fast.
A woman killed her own sister. During the interrogation, she told a story that she just attended her own mother's funeral few days before the crime took place. While at the funeral, she said that she met this guy whom she did not know. She thought this guy was amazing, so much her dream guy she believed him to be just that! She fell in love with him right there, but never asked for his number and could not find him.
A few days later, she killed her sister.
Although this woman has confessed to the crime, police are still intriguing by the story, especially because she won't tell them her motive. Hearing this tragic story, with his psychological education background, Detective Anderson easily guessed the woman's motive.
Why the woman killed her own sister?
