On my way to St. Ives,
I met a man with seven wives.
Each wife had seven sacks,
Each sack had seven cats,
Each cat had seven kits.
Kits, cats, sacks, wives,
How many were going to St. Ives?
You're a pirate captain and your crew is about to divvy up the gold you've plundered. They are waiting for your wisdom on the subject.
However, if less than half the pirate crew agree with your division of the gold, they will make you "walk the plank".
How would you divvy up the gold in a way that will keep you alive and with your pockets full of gold?
(The 'Google Riddles' are interview questions those who wish to get hired were asked).
Share the gold with only 51% of the pirates. The other 49% will want to kill you but who cares - they're the minority! This way you'll get the max amount of gold with the majority of pirates voting to keep you alive.
The next number should be 13112221. Why?
Because each of these numbers describes the previous number. Starting with 1, the 2nd line is 11 (one one), then the 3rd line describes 11 as 21(two ones). Then the 4th line is 1211 which describes (one 2, one 1). And so forth...
Walking home one day, you take a short cut along the train tracks. The tracks cross a narrow bridge over a deep gorge. At the point you are 3/8 of the way across the bridge, you hear the train whistle somewhere behind you. You charge across the bridge, and jump off the track as the train is about to run you down. As it happens, if you had gone the other way, you would have reached safety just before being run over as well. If you can run ten miles per hour, how fast is the train moving?
The train is moving at 40 miles per hour.
if there was a dog going towards the train while you go away from it as the whistle blows, he will reach his point when you are 3/4 (6/8) of the way on the bridge, the train will have just reached it. So for the train to cross the bridge at a rate four times yours it will have to be moving 4 times as fast.
I am not found on any ground,
But always in the air;
Though charged each cloud with thunder loud,
You can not find me there.
Now, if from France you choose to dance
Your way just into Spain,
I there am seen, and near the queen,
In hail, in mist, and rain.
What am I?
A truck driver is going the opposite direction to the other traffic on a one-way street. A police officer sees him but doesn't stop him. Why doesn't the police officer stop him?
A couple went on for a climbing trip. But only the husband returned from the vacation and said that his wife slipped off while climbing and died. On investigating, the local sheriff arrested him saying, 'Your travel agent called. You murdered your wife.'
The man did not inform anyone about the trip. Then how did the agent was so sure that it is a murder?
The man bought only a one-way ticket for his wife whereas he bought a two-way ticket for himself. It means that he was sure that he will be returning alone.
Two trains enter a one-way tunnel at different ends exactly at 9:00, But they both come out the other end unharmed 5 minutes later. How is this possible?
Pronounced as one letter, And written with three, Two letters there are, And two only in me. I'm double, I'm single, I'm black, blue, and gray, I'm read from both ends, And the same either way. What am I?
