Is This the World’s BEST WATERFRONT?

When French explorers Fr. Jacque Marquette and Louis Joliet navigated through what is now Chicago in the mid-1600s, the lakeshore was just a row of messy barren and smelly dunes. Even when the city was founded in 1833, there was no real plan for lakefront recreation. Today, however, Chicago’s lakeshore has become an integral part of the city and is one of the best recreational waterfronts in the world. How did this transformation happen?
