Ham and Cheese Sliders

This quick recipe will be your go-to when unexpected hungry guests arrive at your doorstep. Sliders are small sandwiches that make a great appetizer or main course. These specific ones are filled with ham and cheese, smeared with a good helping of Dijon mustard, and baked in the oven until the top of the bread turns crisp and the cheese is melted.

Unsalted butter - 1 1/2 sticks (melted)
Dijon mustard - 1 1/2 tbsp.
Poppy seeds - 1 1/2 tbsp.
Worcestershire sauce - 1 1/2 tsp.
Onion powder - 1/2 tbsp.
Sliced deli ham - 1 lb. (divided)
Swiss cheese - 1 lb. (thinly sliced)
Method of preparing the Ham and Cheese Sliders:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a 9x13-inch (20x 30cm) baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the melted butter, mustard, poppy seeds, Worcestershire sauce, and onion powder in a small bowl.
  3. Separate the tops from the bottoms of the rolls, and nestle the bottoms only in an even layer in the baking tray.
  4. Spread half of the sliced ham onto the rolls, then layer the cheese, and finally another layer of ham.
  5. Arrange the tops of the rolls to close 24 tiny sandwiches. Drizzle with the butter and mustard sauce.
  6. Bake the rolls until they're golden brown. This will take around 20 minutes.
  7. When ready, remove the rolls from the oven and slice them up into individual sandwiches before serving.
