Difficulty Level: Low
Caramel Cream Cheese and Nut Dip
Ingredients for caramel dip:
Apple - 3-4 (cored and thickly sliced)
Sugar - 3/4 cup
Water - 3 tbsp.
Lemon juice - 1 1/2 tsp.
Nuts - 1/2 cup (chopped)
Cream cheese - 7 oz. (room temperature)
Method of preparing the caramel dip:
  1. Take the cream cheese out of the fridge to let it come to room temperature. Core and slice the apples. If you'd like, you can also peel them.
  2. On a low flame, cook the sugar, water, and lemon juice, until the mixture turns brown.
  3. To serve, arrange the apple slices on the plate or tray, pour the cream cheese into a small dip-dish, and drizzle the caramel over the apples. You can give it a little chill in the fridge before serving, to let the caramel set. Top with the nuts.
Chef's Tip:
If you don't serve the apples immediately, you can keep them in a container with water and a little lemon juice to prevent oxidation and browning. For ease of serving, stick a toothpick in each slice.
