'While my Guitar Gently Weeps' is a 60s classic written by George Harrison and first recorded by the Beatles in 1968, for their eponymous double album also known as 'The White Album'. The original also features lead guitar by Eric Clapton. This version, though, was performed in 2004,and brought an amazing collection of talent from the 70s and 80s to the stage - including Tom Petty, Steve Winwood and Jeff Lynne. I could listen to this whole performance over and over again, but I really couldn't get enough of Prince's guitar solo at the 3:30 minute mark! This remake of a 60s classic is most definitely worth a listen! |
